(MAC) Why is avast recognizing this as MALWARE and blocking it when I try to install this game on MAC?

I've never had this problem on mac before. But now when I try to re-install this on mac, I get a bunch of avast pop-ups calling it "win32:malware-gen." and I'm not sure how to un-block it or allow avast to ignore it or allow it through or whateber. I only have the free version of avast and when I try to "restore" it, I get the 'failed to extract chest item' notification - probably because avast has automatically deleted it as I was trying to download/install it? IDK...


So WTF? I've tried searching this problem but it doesn't seem to exist in the entire internet or steam forums.. How do I fix this? Or is there even a way to fix this???

uninstall avast, replace it with an av soft that's less crazy?

and yeah, there have been a couple of users that had issues with their av as well, maybe two or three iirc. false positives are a thing.
