Elevator to midpoint makes the first half potentially redundant

I understand the dev is probably trying to appease all the people that complain about the absence of progress saves, and time constraints players may have. But this elevator is not the answer.

New players will just use it to skip past half the challenge, and as someone who has completed the game the way it was intended. With no cheesy elevator and no saves. This leaves a sour taste in my mouth, and seems a bit insulting to myself, and possibly all the other players that made the commitment to reach the top and celebrate a well deserved victory.

Even though I don't agree with the elevator, my suggestion is not to remove it, but make it unlockable after the player has made it to the halfway point.

At least then, new players (and current ones that exploit the elevator), will have to at least put in the effort to make it halfway before skipping it for the rest of their attempts.

Another recommendation would be that the Achievement for reaching the top, only be unlockable for those that make it from start to finish without the use of the elevator.

That way, those that actually invested the time and effort into learning the game, and finishing it, may not feel so robbed by others that just used the elevator.

I love re-running the entire first half...I am down to about 20 minutes but with each run I get better. I have used the elevator a couple of times after some unfortunate falls in the late game, but overall I simply love re-running the first half.

I really hope new players do not use the elevator too much because they would be missing out on so much!

Lol, but I've beat it twice! =) ...but I do love that elephant and what he says because it can mimic the real world.

Haha grats on beating it twice. I'm doing the first half a few times over to try to find all the shortcuts. Already beat it once, and not really sure when I'll try to get to the top again.

Nice! Yeah just re-running parts and mastering them is a lot of fun, especially in the first half. There are still some skips I am not comfortable with, such as the bed at the train tracks (haven't been able to grab the train on that jump) as well as the simple skip up past the bus. However I have been able to do the triple bed jump, the windmill skip, as well as the big jump from after the bus all the way to the cars (where the roadway falls away). How about you?

Going through the effort to create an elevator to institute some wonky continue system is just that.

After watching a couple speed runs I realize there is so much to see and try as they jump skip what appear to be amazing areas that effort was put into creating - for US.

I prefer to see these areas, and doubt I ever will with no saves and the amount of time to play legitimately in a SINGLE SESSION.
