xinput is built into windows, adding game support is a checkbox in the engine... a checkbox,
if you enable steam input on an xbox one or beyond controller and the game says controller support then disable steam input. n fact keep it off all the time except in the rare case like this where we have a dev who made a controller game, dont tell me its not because it tries to fake analog inputs... so we have this game and checking a box and setting what button jumps was just too much effort.
i usually dont care but on principle alone im refunding. im sick of havibg to take half neasures or use mods just for a game to work as it should from day 1
I use xbox controller with steam, i've even done so with fighting games with no lag issues🤷♂️
I've also used other third party ones that are more nes like with no issues lol
