Switch puzzle at the end of the first level
So, there are two skull switches on the wall and three ground switches. What to switch?

It's a puzzle, just use trial and error to figure it out What's the fun in knowing the answer?

Ah, now that's a helpful hint, thank you! Too bad there are that many buckheads around. Color theory is sorta easy.

It is probably too big of a hint, but I fell it is important to know when outside information is required to solve a puzzle.

Nah, the hint size is cool. I am one of the people who play games to relax and fire up the soldering iron and a compiler to get a challenge and sense of accomplishment. So the hint's not to big ;)

PS: getting into embedded electronics programming is really great. While programming on the desktop, and maybe web, is fun too, it's in the embedded world where you get to actually interact with your stuff. Some buttons here, some LCD there, some I²C-connection to a gamepad and viola, you get your very own personal whatever.

you could just watch a walkthrough on the internet or read one...

You did throw me off with the statement that it's on the first level.
The puzzle switch you mean is on the 5th level. The first level of the full version, but it's map 5.
I always counted the episodes from the Shareware to the end of the game as the start to end level set. It even does that in the online guides for this game on 3D realm's website, and the grand majority of all Let's plays.
And yes, the puzzle is somewhat complex, because not everyone remembers the combination of colors that make certain other colors. Plus, colorblind people would have extreme difficulty.

That's actually to much of a hint.

you didn't ask for hints...At least is not on your question, you asked what to do and i told you the obvious...

Actually it's level 5 in the whole campaign. Mix the colors to match one by pressing correct plates then use the switch, repeat until all are unlocked. End of story.
