Shock Shield Activation

I might be being dumb here but how do you activate the shock shielding the tutorial says "the shock shielding CAN be activated". But can't see anything related to that anywhere. Is it actually automatic as long as you have charges?

It's automatic. If your ship gets overcharged in the storm they will automatically pop instead of your UCCs. Assuming you have all 3 installed you will be safe from 3 overcharges.

Cool thing is they sell for the same price they cost even when popped. So be sure to sell and replace any popped pods you have/will have

left of your gas gauge above the cruise control. it will show how many pods that still good, it always on unless you turn the breaker off

You'll find a few mis-directions in the game. When hunting down these shock devices in Junk Town she makes it sound like you can only find them through salvage, but then suddenly they show up on the store shelves. Seems at the time they wrote the dialogue the game was a little different, or the person writing the dialog didn't know the changes that may have come later. Some devs will completely forget the limitation of the controller, adding another button to turn something on/off isn't feasible... so it becomes automatic. Here they could just add another switch to the dash. Since these are inline electrical parts that do nothing more than burn out under the right conditions.... no real need for a switch. Just an access panel and a means to swap out the burnt parts is all that is needed. It works, and the effect of the static charge on the ship allows the player to know when one might blow. One of the nicely done mechanics IMO.
