Are we the Ghost Truck?

There's some fun lore stuff about a "Ghost Truck" going around mentioned a few times. You notice that there is no one sitting in the seat when you look into the truck in 3rd person cam mode right? Are we the Ghost Truck? Doesn't explain why we need air, or are affected by heat, but maybe its some phased corporeal thing, but still, its a theory.

I guess invisible driver is just to let you imagine yourself as anything you want. Same justification as lack of voicelines. But it felt odd to me too. Some other games just make player character blurry or hard to see (NFS, for example)

Or some character in a suit and a helmet - Yea i know. was just having fun with the thought and running with it. Story wise.. especially w/ Red's Party.. its not story possible.
I do think it could be a good alternate story or alt mode for the game in the future that the devs could have some fun with.
