what the heck constitutes "reckless driving"?

I've been quite painstaking with my efforts to avoid collisions but can't seem to get any delivers completed without losing over half my payouts to this rather unexplained penalty system. its really frustrating

hitting other objects and ramming into debris, at the moment it's a bit of a painful mechanic

I think the full game will have shields that will soak some damage so that might make things more forgiving.

That was my understanding, but I did a delivery without being honked at or colliding with anything, still got a reckless driving fine.

Pretty sure people keep getting hit by debris they aren't seeing and then just blaming the bugs.

I don't get reckless driving fines because I'm paying attention to where i'm going.

Speeding, also. Pay attention to the speed limit when you're driving in the lanes.

We get an alarm, the cabin shake and we have a huge notification on our screen when we hit something, plus, the cargo takes damage even if it wasn't the part hit.

It's hard to have a collision and not notice.

No worries with debris or collision with other trucks, i drive carrefully and it's good for me and my truck

It's mostly collision and speed. I started managing those two and now I get the careful driver bonus every mission AND I hit fewer things. I don't drive more than 10 over the speed limit (usually 5), and if there isn't a posted speed limit I just go 90-100. Cruise control is your friend here. Also I avoid getting too close to other drivers, but idk if that helps.
