Is debris based on level?

I've flown the same route in the starting zones a few times, no problems. But it seems like as I progress in level the debris fields get thicker and a couple of times now have spawned literally around me out of nowhere so that crashing in unavoidable.

Never noticed that. But, if you are referring to ATLAS PRIME... there is one direct route (don't remember which one) with a very dense debries field in between... that's the only connection I always use the highway.
