Some Atypical Positivity
I couldn't help but notice how most of the posts on this community are people raging that the game isn't the exact specific thing that they want. Or that the bug fixes and features they want aren't implemented immediately. As someone that's not foaming at the mouth over my experience, I just wanted to add my input.

I'm a big fan of space hauling. I did what little of it I could in EVE, but to actually haul for real I basically needed to join one of the corps and I found the waitlists to be too ridiculously long. I have 2,246 hours in Elite: Dangerous and while I spent a good bit of that time doing every activity the game had to offer, the vast majority of my time was spent hauling.

BGS, power play, trade loops, tourism, refugees, PTN booze cruising, rare trading. That may sound like a lot but the fact of the matter is that all of those are the same gameplay. Fly ship from A to B. Dock. Click menus. Undock. Repeat. Let's not pretend that EVE hauling is any different in terms of gameplay unless you really like warp cloak or spreadsheet "gameplay." Obviously I enjoy the E:D gameplay or I wouldn't have done it so much, but it does get stale. And I don't care that some of the stuff I'm about to mention is present in Star Citizen because I'm not going to pay for a permanent alpha.

Star Trucker is a breath of fresh air. I love that I can stand up in my cab and walk around. I love that I can physically move goods from the airlock onto my shelves instead of just clicking menus and adding the items to some imaginary inventory. I love that I can exit my ship without a weak fade-to-black and then suddenly I'm outside. I love that I can be OUTSIDE in SPACE as opposed to teleporting out of my ship to go click menus on foot in a station instead of clicking menus in my ship. I love the limited maintenance of "Driver" mode and having to maintain my ship without it consuming gameplay. I even love that you have to back the truck in instead of just using vertical thrusters. It adds to the charm of flying a space semi instead of just a spaceship.

I enjoy a freight mission here and there but my favorite thing to do is fly around grabbing any salvage I detect. If the system I'm in happens to be selling anything at a 10% or higher deficit I buy it. If they happen to be buying anything at a 10% or higher markup I sell it. A++ super fun.

This game is great and I'm excited to see where it goes.

Nice to have some positivity, I'm enjoying the patch so far. I'm glad see more job bonuses and less hefty fines + better cash bonus. Makes hauling triples more appealing, took a few light knocks but didn't lose as much as I thought. The story is back online too

posts on this community are people raging that the game isn't the exact specific thing that they want.

That's because the rest of us are busy actually playing this awesome game. Eventually people grow out of the "argue with people on the internet" phase and just enjoy the things they enjoy.

Well, SOME people do.

This is one of the least buggy games to come out in the last decade or more, and it hits all the right notes to be THE space game I've been wanting for ages. The devs already addressed critical issues very early, and now they've delivered the FIRST patch to address them in a timely fashion for such a small team.

There is nothing to complain about.

Yet, there will always be someone to complain. And then they will complain in every thread, and argue with anyone about how they have a right to complain. Hopefully the devs are wise enough not to take them toooo seriously.

There is toxic negativity and toxic positivity, neither is healthy. A lot of posts are from people who like the game and want to make it better. In general, if someone doesn't like the product they refound and move on and do not engage in the community. Of course, there is a % who just need to complain, but that's either complaining about the games or complaining about complaints, or just trolling everyone else with "get gud" etc.

There is a lot to "complain" about in a civilized matter which devs took as input to better the game for the whole community.
