A quick tip though is to buy a lot of boxes and swap the cells before they are completly dry. Then if you find a sector with 20+% increase in energy price you just sell them and make around 30% of their cost back. Annoying but at least one way to deal with the cost part.
How tf do you find salvage? Haven't found a single spot yet and I have been to every system I have unlocked
It feels like the air filters are bugged at the moment, the health depletes faster than the actual "filter" feels like this is unintentional, it makes no sense. Filters are also WAY too expensive and way too rare to find.
Alternators are operated by the rotation of a gas/diesel engine. In space you're using direct burn thrusters. There's no engine to hook the alternator up to... LOL
...And before you suggest the grav drive because it rotates, it's also running off those batteries, and you can't charge a battery off something that's running off those same batteries... LOL
What's actually missing is maybe a solar panel upgrade for the roof, so you can trickle-charge batteries. Won't completely remove having to buy them, but at least you can keep one on a charge for emergencies.
I'm on the cusp of buying this but I really don't want to smash my head against the wall before refunding if it's just a tiresome grind based on silly mechanics. It looks like it could be a lot of fun. Doesn't help that I watched Blitz play this for less than an hour and he ran out of power and his air filter killed him. Never mind he didn't buy ANY parts during the whole video. It still highlighted how fast you get stranded and die when you make a mistake. And it looks like a death loop situation. That's a no-go.
Space IS an inherently hostile environment to our form of life. You respect it, you plan to it, and you don't screw up - or you die.
At least in the game you can reload a save and maybe avoid the screwup next time, or start from scratch if you REALLY borked it.
