Anyway to charge power cells?
The ♥♥♥♥ power cells man, they are so expensive and run out so fast. Is there no way to charge them up or something? I am spending so much money on power cells I cant afford anything else wtf.

Update: The answer is no. Start a new custom game, turn power cell consumption, UCC consumption and air filter degradation to low. The game is so much better.

nope, and remember you will spend a lot on Air filters too. they are around 3k each.
A quick tip though is to buy a lot of boxes and swap the cells before they are completly dry. Then if you find a sector with 20+% increase in energy price you just sell them and make around 30% of their cost back. Annoying but at least one way to deal with the cost part.

salvage some scrap... you will see an eye sign flash up on screen in white... thats scrap you find alsorts even power cells.. best to take an empty box with you... PS dont forget your suit.

A lot of words but no one answering your question. No, you can't charge power cells.

second reply here already answered that

Leave an empty power cell in the Core or Grav slots and it will use half the amount it normally uses, basically doubling your battery lifetime. I assume this is a bug, as it does not seem intentional

In 3023 spaceships don't have alternators? Wut? There should be a way to charge them onboard, if not by default in an upgrade or something. Also, parts run out so fast they are way too sparse at shops. I'm having to hop between systems between jobs to spend 50% of my money on parts.

How tf do you find salvage? Haven't found a single spot yet and I have been to every system I have unlocked

Seems the answer is nope at this moment. But try to start a game on custom difficulty and turn the battery consumption to minimum.. at the moment I think it's the only solution to this, also Air filters are quite annoying. Hope they fix that consumption rates on future updates or even add some kind of recharging unit to the truck. I hope they see the feedback, the game seems pretty interesting and original so I pray the developers listen to the community and correct all these little things.

This is making a fun game a boring experience. I want to truck about the stars not Uber to convince stores to buy batteries.

It feels like the air filters are bugged at the moment, the health depletes faster than the actual "filter" feels like this is unintentional, it makes no sense. Filters are also WAY too expensive and way too rare to find.

Alternators are operated by the rotation of a gas/diesel engine. In space you're using direct burn thrusters. There's no engine to hook the alternator up to... LOL

...And before you suggest the grav drive because it rotates, it's also running off those batteries, and you can't charge a battery off something that's running off those same batteries... LOL

What's actually missing is maybe a solar panel upgrade for the roof, so you can trickle-charge batteries. Won't completely remove having to buy them, but at least you can keep one on a charge for emergencies.

At bare minimum, you should be able to charge your systems for a fee when docking just like filling your fuel. Create a penalty if you must, such as a time penalty given the typically longer charge times of electric current or perhaps reduced power cell life. That makes more sense anyway. Buy fresh cells give you a longer lasting cell vs. a cell you've been charging that has had the max life reduced considerably. Still a balancing game but a more reasonable one. Air filters simply need balancing. It's insane to play for about an hour and your filter kills you if you aren't prepared to replace it. These systems have to be fun and not anxiety fueled nightmares.

I'm on the cusp of buying this but I really don't want to smash my head against the wall before refunding if it's just a tiresome grind based on silly mechanics. It looks like it could be a lot of fun. Doesn't help that I watched Blitz play this for less than an hour and he ran out of power and his air filter killed him. Never mind he didn't buy ANY parts during the whole video. It still highlighted how fast you get stranded and die when you make a mistake. And it looks like a death loop situation. That's a no-go.

Space IS an inherently hostile environment to our form of life. You respect it, you plan to it, and you don't screw up - or you die.

At least in the game you can reload a save and maybe avoid the screwup next time, or start from scratch if you REALLY borked it.
