I have suggested to the devs the bed would be a great way to pass time for stuff like this!

Yes time skip function please
OLEG Sep 6, 2024 @ 1:38pm
Yes, there is such a thing. When you fulfill an urgent order, you have to wait for several tens of minutes. It says a certain time, after which the unloading place opens. Until the time is up, you have to stand still.

Hi there! We agree this would be an excellent way to incorporate the sleeping functionality, and we're excited to explore it as a potential future feature!

That feature or something similar would definitely be awesome! I'm playing on Xbox, and just so happened to be doing a Just In Time mission, and seeing that I was 50min early, but it was only a one jump job, there should definitely be a way to time skip so I'm not stuck waiting around in the system for over a half hour. I ended up just leaving the trailer and starting a new job, but the cost was heavy and now I know to just steer clear of those kind of jobs for now.

would be a very nice feature

Please incorporate some kind of timeskip function. The bed is a great way to add immersion and would help give more incentive to taking on jobs you can arrive earlier than expected.

For those advocating for timeskip/sleeping, I think there are fundamental issues that no one seems to talk about. I’ve seen the suggestion frequently but almost no problems with it, for example:

- Makes just in time jobs pointless. No planning required, just sleep! So what’s the point of that entire skill tree?
- If you’re not docked, how will you manage dwindling resources while sleeping? Because battery drain and air filter degradation doesn’t just stop because you need a nap
- If you ARE docked, there should absolutely start to be a berthing/shore power surcharge, which I’m sure many will complain about but is absolutely a thing for real truckers. Power isn’t free, and taking up a valuable docking port prevents commerce for the station.

Please don't make it too powerful. If you could just skip a custom amount of minutes, the jit deliveries would lose their entire point.
Consider a cost, either to your truck, or consumables. Maybe you can skip a flat hour with sleep medicine, or accelerate the flow of time with drugs or something.

Almost everything ive read here in the threads says you run 95% in debt most the time in the game so whats another surcharge?

It really sounds to me like the devs need to reevaluate the economy in the game have more places sell parts you need pay more for certain jobs so you can afford the parts for you truck and make a way to recharge batteries either a generator or solar panels or battery charger so that youre not using batteries and have them just floating about or running out of air in the truck cause you had to use your suit to patch a hole on the hull.

Based all the reviews and these threads Ive read the game is going to need a decent update. These were issues complained about when the demo dropped but now that the full game is out alot of other issues seem to be piling on top of the already game ruining frustrations of running out of batteries and or Air.

Are you insinuating that real truck drivers can drive for an infinite about of time with no rest? Just because the game doesn't incorporate it now doesn't mean it doesn't need a rest feature...and it doesn't make the JIT jobs pointless, its just giving you a means to help balance out timing issues if arrive to early. You could even rest before leaving for the job so you could arrive on time, it wouldn't matter either way. There's just not enough to do in terms of wasting time in the game so you can turn these JIT jobs in, especially if its to a system one jump away...like my one job was to turn in the trailer in 3 hours, but the single jump took me only an hour...it doesn't take 2 hours to refuel/repair/shop around. And jumping to another system or taking a longer route to get the desired destination is pointless and a waste of fuel plus you could end up being late.
