Driving through debris fields?
In the tutorial it mentions going ‘off road’ is sometimes necessary, but from my short time playing so far it seems like a requirement ? From what I can tell the roads in a hub don’t connect all the jump gates or am I wrong?

Yeah, the roads are utterly pointless in this game from what I've seen. Perhaps they become more useful in later areas, but in the starting handful of areas I almost never use them.

might be a time saver in a situation, no debris i believe is in the highway area.

There's mild debris that's basically unavoidable, it's everywhere and there aren't enough roads that you can avoid it. It's just part of the game.

There's real debris fields that would be suicide to go through, you'll know it when you see it.

Are you talking about that cluster ♥♥♥♥ at Atlas Prime? Flew through that one a few times doing 150mph. It was not fun but didnt get a single scratch.

There are much danger hazard zones starting from second unlocked region
You hope the highway could cover more area and could stay inside forever

I suppose the issue I have is that the in game text makes it sound like choosing between on and off road is a risk/reward type of thing, whereas the reality is that you can't stick to roads even if you wanted to.

Pathways marked out by a series of curved "guideposts" to the sides. No debris inside those pathways, though you do have to mind the other traffic (it will NOT attempt to dodge YOU so far as has been observed). Even in the starting zones though, not every location has a road to it, so you have to deal with at least some light-debris areas. Keeping speed under 85 and keeping a careful eye out is generally enough to get through those safely though.

If you go through a debris filled area very fast you will get a bunch of hull breaches. Usually more than you can fix on a single suit charge and while you're waiting for the suit to charge you're losing O2. Staying in the space lanes where there is less debris seems pretty important if you don't want to just inch along. Lighter fields you can avoid most of it by constantly moving (and burning power) but speed kills.

Then you end up in Junk Fields and hit everything there is to hit...

So, I have played quiet a fair bit now (over 35+ hours)
And.....I am afraid to say that the game starts to wear on you quite a bit after the novelty has has worn off.

Here are my thoughts: And instead of just complaing, I will also offer a solution:

P1. THE DOCKING.....really tedious after doing it for about 20x.
S1: Maybe have skill point called AUTO-DOCKING. That once you get near you just quick press and boom....I mean, after doing it for 20x...you kinda get it...and at that point you just wanna skip it. I had the same issue in starfield. And I installed a mod to entirely skip that proces.

P2. The satisfaction of THE REWARDS between hauls are to low and take to long.
S2: Either increase the amount of cash per haul, or find out a way to fine tune the fast travel system. (the warping)
I mean, you get into a system...you have to SLOWLY grind your way to a monitor. DOCK. Look for mission. Take mission. SLOWLY grind to your Cargo. DOCK IT (Again) then go to your fast travel line. (sometimes multible times) then go to your DROP OFF. All this can take upwards of 20 minutes and after you are doing, you get a mediocre 1500 credits on average.

P3. MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP is to HIGH. Even on EASY settings.
P3: This one kinda connects to P2. A decent air filter will set you back a staggering 3000 credits. A decent battery anywhere between 1000 and 3000. Remember, most mission roll out only like 1000-1500 in cash and the missions take upwards of 15 minutes if you're fast about it. That means that I need to spend 30 minutes grinding mission just to buy enough power and filters to keep my RIG running in the first place. NOT FUN!!!

P4: SLOW....SLOW....SLllzzzzzzZllow.....SZzzzzz....
S4: Look, I get it. It's a "SIM GAME" you`re suppose to immerse in the whole driving thing.
And yes, the envoirements are gorgeous. but, after visiting the same sector for 5th time. The asthethics kinda lose their value and you just wanna get past everything to get to where you wanna go. You want to progess...and the progression IS TO SLOW!

P5: My personal most hated ASTEROIDS !!!!!!!!!!!
S5: The F****RS are everywhere. YOu cannot go 1 min off the beaten path or something is bouncing of your chassis. Look....I understand there need to be a certain "Discouragement" to go off the highway and take the shortcuts. But as stated in in P4. Everything takes sooo long...and it`s soo slow. You WANT to take those shortcuts.
But your rig manouvres so cumbersum and tedious that it just sucks all the fun out of the travellign between A and B.
Why even have a cruis control if you have to steer and brake every 15 sec to dodge an asteroid.
SOLUTION: Reduce them!!! by like...a LOT.

P6: Interactions with THE SHOPS. You have to dock everytime....ugghh...
S6: Maybe have a skill or an upgrade that allows you to buy stuff directly from the sector inside your cabin/cockpit. I want to skip the docking procedure entirely and just BUY items from my cabin. Get them delivered to my RIG. I mean, its the year 3023...where are all the friggin drones/delivery droids? You telling me I have to go and collect everything manually??? Booorring.

P7: QUALITY OF LIFE THINGS! Let me see where the SHOPS and MISSION boards are when I enter the sector. Instead of having to fly around looking for them. They only appear when I get really close. And YES< I understand some of them are obvious when connect to a giant station. But sometimes they are quite easy to miss. Or even hidden.
And having to fly through a sector up and down for 15 min wasting precious battery life....not fun.

S7: I agree that in the beginning you should feel like a total clueless tool. Struggling with the docks, the hauls, the transporting. Etc. Thats all fine.
but at some point into like the 8-10 hours playtime marker. You should be able to become an "experienced"truck driver and bypass a lot of the tedious repetition as stated above.
Skill that allow me to go faster. Auto Docking. Battery chargers. REPAIR skill to fix my Chips and exteriors without leaving the RIG. Just to name a few. I`m spitballing here.....

Anyways......that's all I got for you now. Sorry for the rants!
Understand they came from a place of passion because I do LIKE this game a lot, I just wish it could be better! ;-)
