The problem is you can't link two trailers from seperate jobs, yeah other jobs come with prelinked trailers, well done, very observative Watson, because that is what people are bickering about
Plus if you use your brain, it is clear why. The game doesn't mark on the HUD what trailer goes into what drop off point. So you wouldn't know which trailer to disconnect when you got there. And for efficiency sake you would want to unload the reverse order you loaded, and given how half of you can't read text, I don't think higher cognitive thinking is in your toolbox.
The reason you can accept three contracts is that for us smart ones, we can strategically link them. Since the delivery times on a fair few jobs are wide enough to drive a space truck through, you can actually accept a job and let countdown for a good while. The one hop contracts are great for chaining in the Early Game. Start Atlas Prime, Jump to Medusa Six, drop off pick up, off to Edgeburgh, drop off pick up and back to Medusa Six again. (Of course this assuming you didn't do something stupid like accept three contracts that all start in the same system)
Two hops are a little more precarious, and finding jobs all in one station to chain them is harder. Though once you upgrade your truck, you can really get moving, so you can even start chaining longer jobs.
If you have the super big brain, you can accept multiple contracts and mix them with the Just in Time contracts, since they have a delivery window where you can't arrive early. With some planning you can work around them and be constantly earning money galore.
You know, for someone with such a self-proclaimed "big brain," you miss a lot when it comes to common sense and understanding. Maybe before criticizing others, you should read up a little more on how the real world works and what people are actually talking about. I'll break down the concepts for you, so you can understand...
First, independent contractor truck drivers in the real world - usually, but not limited to, those who own a truck and don't work for a major transport corporation - will accept hauling contracts from multiple sources or companies, link multiple trailers together, and drop off trailers along the way to their final destination. This was the hope for many in the game as it does provide an extra challenge in maneuvering trailers and a good payout.
Second, the game mentions hauling multiple trailers and you can even clearly see the NPC truckers doing this, therefore you could reasonably assume that hauling trailers from different sources would not be an issue, especially since the game and guidebook does not specifically state that you cannot - at least in the beginning to the point where you get the skill tree item for hauling multiple trailers.
Third, in the Star Truckers demo, players were able to manually link multiple trailers with the Maglock - as stated in comments before yours. I did not play the demo so I cannot confirm this personally however several other people have stated this.
So, it is perfectly reasonable to deduce that one would be able to connect multiple trailers from different sources together to haul until otherwise told that they cannot. For one example, I must travel to destination "Z" for the game story progression. I find two contracts from different sources to pick up in "X", one goes from "X" to "Y" and the second goes from "X" to "Z". I pick them up in "X", drop one trailer off in "Y", and the last trailer drop off in "Z" and I have reached my desired destination while making money on two different hauls. Ideal, right? I would say "yes."
It's really not that difficult to understand and I would think it would add more complexity, skill, and intrigue to the game. I would figure that almost everyone playing the game already knows that the point of the game is to fill every jump possible with a contract haul - pick-up trailer, JUMP, drop off trailer, pick up another trailer, JUMP, drop off ... rinse and repeat. So, that isn't a new concept and usually those good with these sort of games will catch onto this quickly, even if its after the game specifies this itself in the tutorial/dialogue.
So, next time, please be more polite and respectful to others, and if you don't understand why people are thinking and speaking a certain way, ask them instead of criticizing.
Multiple trailers opens up more missions, that have multiple trailers and are usually a higher pay out.
Would be nice to be able to hitch 2 or 3 contracts together if they're going the same way.
It would also be relatively easy, you would just line trailer 2 with trailer 1, then trailer 3 with trailer 2. Not actually align 2 trailers to a 3rd.
I'm sure it's a skill issue but reversing in star trucker is a pain in the ass, 1000% harder than regular truck sims imo.
