power cell management annoying AF
I havent even made 3 trips and my power cells are all almost uncharged, the 7 of them. buying new ones is incredibly expensive (at least for early game), so idk what to do. Turning down difficult might work, but I dont care for it, since this doesnt seem well thought out.
Does anyone have a solution to it? maybe im missing something.
Thanks

Buy a battery every time you drop off a load, regardless of your need, you will generate a backstock and it will become less of a major issue. Manage your fuel burn, if you got long straight, turn off driver assist and coast. Not everything always has to be on. I usually turn off my headlights, that has a decent draw on your powercells.

Ive done runs in my space suit inside my truck lol. turned everything off except thrusters. (This was during the demo)

Do resources still drain as quickly as the demo? They kept saying that rates were increased to demonstrate systems - literally everyone complained about fast resource usage...

turning everything off seems like a desperate solution but it something that works I guess. And the thing about buying batteries is just not possible. For the early game the payouts are like 1k, and the batteries cost just the same, so there's no real incentive to keep driving just to keep increasing debt

Yeah, its extremely annoying. Everytime I go check out a battery is like at 7%. All that within the first 2 or 3 cargo trips.

It should be possible to recharge them at gas station

Welcome to Power Cell Manager, trucking is just window dressing on the side

I'll add on that I wish the power cells could be recharged or lost their charge a little slower. Having fun though.

EDIT: Well, looked through the settings and when you start a New Game, you can customize the difficulty so basically I'll just keep everything at normal but turn down how fast power cells lose their charge. Pleased to see this as an option.

Same here. Not only it's expensive, but you have to dock every time you when you want to buy new ones (hate that)

you can set the power consumption rates at the start of a new game

What a bummer, I was thinking about buy - but it seems everything went to managing all those systems and energy and the driving part is just there.

SO how fast do they discharge when the drain setting is set to minimum?

Turning off your lights and setting the blower to low takes you from about 88% to 48% drain on CORE 1 and 2. I think you can also just live without gravity for the start, it just means your cab cargo floats around.

Went custom difficulty, low power and item drain and the hourly drain is down to 11% on core systems and 32% on grav with some lights off, which actually seems FAR less stressing than the "recommended" settings. Time to truck!

Looked through achievements, and saw none related to game difficulty.
So doesn't seem the game will penalize you for running with custom difficulty. if your goal is achievement hunting.

its a dumb mechanic power should just be supplied by the engine. Is there not a upgrade for a battery charger?
