if you want to deliver cargo in a space ship way rather then a truck there is like a dozen games in that genre already.
also, for the record, your desires would be inauthentic, a dev making a game inspired by a common job and putting it in a fantasy setting is an interesting concept.
This more sounds like "your" "personal" opinion to be honest, that or this is an attempt at a clown farm. Most discussions I have seen involving Star Trucker are very positive, the only negative is were all impatient and want to be in huge space convoy's in our huge space Kenworths. Apart from that I would say it's an unpopular minority.
Most space sci-fi games are all the same with small variations to make them slightly stand out, Star Trucker plays on an entirely new perspective and is very refreshing. The concept is unique and is a fairly untouched one at that, the concept to my knowledge has only been used in a very select few old anime's.
I don't think it's lazy, rather they put a lot of effort into this game. If I were to compare Star Trucker to other games, I would compare it to being a cross between the X series games like X3 / X4 and American Truck Simulator, yes the ships are basically an enlarged version of Australian Kenworths and that's awesome, space ships are fairly generic in design where as they went with a different approach to space ship design. Even Treasure Planet had a unique perspective and it would make for a very good game in itself.
In the end buy it or don't buy it, simple as that.
Whats happening here is that you don't like that artistic choice. Thats it, thats all, Thats all thats happened. But rather then just accept that and admit it, they devs HAVE to be lazy and they MUST be using gimmicks? Really? You really can't just admit that you don't like the art style used?
I don't like anime and I also don't insult the people that create it over my dislike of it.
Also OP if the expanse had a space truck, it probably wouldnt have gotten cancelled.
that's where they got the inspiration from.
freaking love thats its actually "just" Trucks in space on space highways
