There's no point in them.
There's no extra advantage as further or wider light coverage...
You just look cool with them turned ON.
Yes. The game is shallow like that.
I personally think that is exactly the kind of tactic the devs were going for, for players to find ways to conserve power where they can, when they can.
Cheers
Alternately, make the AI more able or willing to avoid you if you're running more lights. The headlights already help spot debris, but the aux and roof lights could be functionally for visibility to other vehicles.
I haven't paid that much attention to the drain for each light specifically, but I often run with roof lights on because it feels better to have *something* lighting me up.
They put zero effort into balancing a lot of the game effects, and the difficulty settings have no nuance between "dedicate your life to swapping in replacement parts" and "ignore this aspect of the game entirely." Playing with the easier resource consumption setting means 12 hours in I've swapped batteries and air filters once, and that was really only done so the battery meter would look full.
No idea what the more difficult setting is like, I assume you just run out of power and explode during the intro sequence.
Why cant the space generators OR SOLAR PANELS... Be a purchasable upgrade to keep your batteries from running dead or installed battery charger in the truck so that if you're going to have to swap cells constantly at least they can be maintained to some efficient levels of power.
I sincerely hope that the current game in its current state was not released with the same power drains as the demo had. Does the full game not offer upgrades for the truck to have more sustainable battery life longer lasting batteries?
The trick is figuring out that trading is where you make your money, hauling is just your side hustle where you make a little extra scratch and the exp to level up while trading.
