I think the cargo boxes by default should have magnetic bottoms or whatever so even in zero G they stay put. Maybe in a major collision will they dislodge and go flying.
As things are now there is no way to avoid stuff floating everywhere when grav is turned off, when swapping out the battery for. And putting everything back in its place is a chore.
We want to spend more time flying than micromanaging the truck. Although I think that aspect is fun to a degree, but too much of it can slow things down too much. Thankfully we can have some control over there via custom difficulty level. But I don't think there is any option for gravity- aside from batteries lasting longer etc.
This. There's no excuse for not being able to lock down boxes.
In reality, the boxes would either have a locking device that attaches them to the shelves (look at the stackable toolboxes at Home Depot), or slots for straps or bungee cords to tie them down.
No item that's meant to be shipped in space would *not* have some sort of tiedown loop or latch to keep it locked into place.
