Report a translation problem
Once you're done, just reverse the process. Undock, twist your truck to line up on the trailer's magpoint, and back up until you can re-lock it. Then you drive on :)
I do recommend the perpendicular approach rather than heading straight at the docking point, since it makes it much easier to pull away with your cargo afterwards. If you go straight in, you might have to try to back up a bit when you try to leave, and that's usually riskier than being able to move forward (better view angles for debris/traffic watch).
