Cant lower stairs

To get close enough to click lower stairs the stairs just hit your head and won't lower, now stuck and very close to refunding.

Any ideas?

I had that problem when I had a power cell off to the side that was blocking the stairs.

Otherwise throw the gravity generator breaker and you can go straight up and over the stairs.
