Can power cells be recharged?
Can they be recharged, or once they're dead, they're trash? That doesn't feel ecologically acceptable for the 31st century...

Also, can you top up a gas canister from the fuel pump either?

Also 2, once you click OK or Return on a shop/gas interface, the only way back is undocking and re-docking?

You can sell the used power cells at the shop for a few bucks.

On your second question: Leave the cockpit while docked and go close your airlock door, you will see a hologram show up in front of the door that you can click to re-open the job board/shops

Honestly they should recharge while docked to a station/hub and in an emergency have a solar panel you can deploy to get a small charge (Enough to get you back to a gate)

Power cells can't be recharged. However if you leave an empty power cell in either of the core or grav slots where you have 2 cells it should make it so your 1 power cell with charge only uses half charge, as if the other battery still has charge. This essentialy doubles the life time of your batteries for these 2 uses. it's obviously a bug tho

A powercell recharger would be a cool endgame gadget. Like as a ship upgrade for 15k.

There is really a lack of a module that would charge the batteries.
So far, I have to keep a whole supply of batteries, because they fail very quickly.

I traded my old power cell for a new one.

Really hope they do something with batteries, maybe even a mid-late game recharge perk. Even one time use solar panels would be a neat idea

charging while docked maybe?

i think some kind of charging station that would decrease durability for the batteries a little each time you charge em would be a nice addition

Charging batteries was abandoned at the request of Musk's great great great grandchildren since they weren't getting any kickback.

Jokes aside, who doesn't recharge batteries?

Are the trucks single use as well?

One thing I noticed is that batteries come in sizes. There are bigger batteries which of course, last longer.

They cost a hell of a lot more though, the price per power is not equal.

I was thinking the same thing, being able to buy a module to recharge your power powercells, but I think it should be accessible to buy early in the game.

That would be the most logical way to have it done in the game for realism. Other ways that would make sense, Maybe a solar pannel system but... Solar is not going to supply enough power to keep you going or charge fast, I would program it so you would have to pull over on the side of the road so to say, and power down all systems including gravity, only life support active, and deploy solar array, and wait for everything to charge up slowly, this would be something to do in an emergency side of the road break down situation, preferably you make sure to charge up at a station. I think it would be fair for station dock charge to be an option you activate, not automatic free charge, and you can choose to pay a small fee to the dock to charge your cells, will be charged based on how much charge all your batteries teks up. A third option would be maybe being able to have them fast charged at a fuel station for a fee. 4th option, maybe spot/shop you can stop at and trade in a dead battery for a full battery for a small fee, much less than you would pay for a new powercell, just a quick swap like trading in an empty propane tank for a full. Lastly, Maybe a small solar cell on the truck itself that does not make it look dumb and has one slot to put in one power cell that can charge slowly over time, maybe not enough to never have to ever need a dock or other charge method, but something you can always keep a spare battery in and charging in case of a real emergency. But how ever it is done, there really does need to be some kind of powercell recharge system in the game. Maybe they can do something in an update, They are not going to want to put too much effort into adding this to the game so I would think a recharge at a dock would be the easiest way for them to do it. Or maybe have exp upgrades to your truck than can make your truck more efficient in all areas where fuel cells are used to make them drain much slower as you progress.

Cars have been charging batteries for ages. its 2024 and my car charges the battery (EV) by just driving down the road (tires charge it).

yet in the far future with space trucking there is no way to charge a battery anywhere?

Serious flawed game logic
