Impossible Jobs
I once saw a rush delivery job where I have to deliver something from Medusa Six to the Junk Fields, but it had to be done under half and hour, which was impossible due to time dilation during gate travel. Why the game gave a job which can't be done on time? At first I thought it was just a hiccup, but then I saw another job afterwards that was about delivering to Onyx with only less than a hour to deliver, all the way from Three Kings.

Rush deliveries I'd bet. Some are just impossible to do "on time" but still pay pretty well. I do agree they shouldn't ever have jobs where just jumping through gates will cause you to fail the timer, the jobs should time out or not penalize you at that point.

I've accepted some "impossible" deliveries if they went where I was happening to be going. You'll get a late fine, but you can still complete them.

But yeah, always check on the timings.

Yeah, noticed the same thing. Hopefully they'll implement getting rid of such jobs and generating completable instead. Once I had to leave Onyx empty 'cause all 4 jobs had impossible time :D

Saying the fine is minimal is an understatement. I don't think there is any other downside. It is humorous how much time is given on them. In fact I don't know that I have seen one that is possible in time.

Yep. I noticed the same thing. I have it posted somewhere with a screenshot and reported it to them through their feedback/bug site. What it seems like is the job time is not taking the current job offer location into account if the load is located in a different location. I've seen several times where the trip to pick up the cargo almost reaches the expected delivery time. Has to be an oversight as right off the bat you're 100% going to make a very late delivery.
its all about timing the jobs, youll notice the jobs all have an expiration time, if youre seeing a rush job that cant be done, its probably about to expire cause its sat there for a while. just dont take rush jobs that are lower then like an hour on the expiration timer

It's not about the expiration time though. I've had jobs show up that the pick-up location is two jumps away, and needs to return two jumps. The expected by time only accounts for a one-way trip, not counting the time required to go pick up the cargo. The question is, why would this job not have already been expired when there is clearly no chance to deliver by the expected time?

Here's an example:

It's not necessarily really about JIT though. Good video BTW, I'd watched that one already.

It's more about just generally not enough time to actually complete a contract. On-time at least. I don't know what the fine is for delivering late. But take this for example where a job is being offered that clearly is impossible to deliver on-time. It's a rush delivery, but unlike ATS/ETS, there is in fact no way to rush the delivery on this job to make it on-time.

I would genuinely like to know if this is intended that a player has the ability to take a job that they cannot deliver on-time therefore accepting a late penalty, or an oversight by the developers.

Instead of the 1h18m in my above example, if the expected by delivery time was near the estimated time, basically no room for error or messing around, and might have to navigate through some rocks to make it, that would make more sense. Currently it doesn't make sense that a player is basically accepting a penalty right off the bat before they even leave the job board.

it sucks, do agree if one "first discovered" one shouldn't or reduce the "time cost" if its above the distance time.

but some missions pay good no matter what, even if it gets late. but it sucks when all the jobs are out of time, low pay etc etc. sure sometimes one have to get what one can, but to be double or triple punished for it... kind of sucks and makes trading more of a thing than hauling cargo.
