Weird. I've been flying with mine like that for 15 hours or so with no gravity or issues.
I even got rammed by a trucks thrusters to my roof that fully spun me around. While they did move, they were still on the shelves.
Well that's great for you then... As for me, I put them on the shelves, or on the floor, and the next time I get out of my chair they are all over the place... It's very annoying...
Would turning gravity off help at all..?
Like if you save game once finished placing the boxes, then exit the game and return?
Do they just slip off the shelves or load up in a closed state perhaps?
As for turning off gravity I would not recommend it as it would make your moving around within the truck harder and slower.
With that being said in my 34 hours of gameplay I have never had anything just randomly move with the gravity being on.
The only random item movement is a brief shuffling of the golden cones I placed on the dash on both sides of the pilot seat, and even that is happening only when I undock, and then they mostly snap back to the original placement I left them at.
It could be some unique bug that you could report.
That is odd.
I did a quick test by placing some elctronics the most unstable way possible, then punching the gas to hit 160 mph and smashed the brakes to a complete stop.

As you can see the electronics panel is still standing on its edge on the edge of the bunk there, even the cones next to my makeshift double-stacked storage remained in the same place.
You might be having a very unique bug.
Oooor you play with some added difficulty on the Custom mode or Recommended or above.
I changed and restarted to one below the recommended mode as soon as it was established that the rate of components failing is way too high to keep up with maintenance, and some components like air filters were hard to come by before the current patch came out.
Yes. I just found out that gravity on affects the containers on the shelves, even with the lid open, while playing today.
Exactly.. Ah well, maybe they will do something about at some point...
Like at some point something gone wrong with the game, and with every save the game would save the bugged-out state too.
In that case starting a new game might fix the issue but resetting the entire progress would be a major drag and eliminate all sense of progression.
I was thinking a bit.
Maybe if you start a new game just for testing that will take up 1 save slot that you can reuse upon your return to the original progression, but might worth investigating if a new game would fix it or not.
Then you would know if having a persisting bugged out state is even possible in this game or not.
It would be valuable info to the devs.
I think it's just down to collisions.. Even minor collisions, as in not enough to damage the rig, will knock them off the shelves. So after a couple of those, when I need to leave the chair I find them all over the floor..
As long as the top box cannot open fully the whole stack will not move under zero gravity, so you can do something like this if you are insane.

(it will still fly apart during a collision, but now you can comfortably store your wine and beer)
Also, forget about weight limit, the boxes alone cost me 300kg already by now, but if you are netting 50k per run to the Bermuda Gap who give a flying ♥♥♥♥ about ROSSO fining you 2k per jump.
Nice, but I like to see where I'm going.. :) So 2k.? I wondered what the fine was.. Do you know what jobs are high in xp..? Trying to get to level 50...
I'm just asking because in all my gameplay across 2 game modes I never encountered things moving with gravity on, with the exception that I mentioned above.
