Most people disable the GG by pulling the battery after loading all their cargo into either hardcrates or cardboard boxes and then 'wedging' them into the cargo racks by putting the boxes into the racks then opening the lids. The physics 'break' since the lids can't fully open and the boxes won't move from those spots now.
With only the battery pulled from the GG, when you're docked to a station the station will provide free power to the GG, allowing you to walk around and sort any new cargo you buy or resort your boxes in gravity.
This is exactly what I do. I got tired of having to put in a new battery after about every 15 mins of gameplay. Just keep in mind that anything too large to fit in a storage box will still take some damage when you are flying around.
Hmm i didn't think opening the lids would lock them in place i'll have to do that. Thanks for the ideal :)
How do you even check the cab weight? You get an upgrade to increase the max, but how do you know where you are at? I haven't seen a read-out for it on the dash.
You check the cab weight by pressing tab and then going to the cargo screen.
Yeah i am kinda surprised that we don't have straps or it's not an upgrade option. Even then i am surprised as well that the hard boxes don't have magnets or and upgraded versions has it.
Thanks for the info on where the weight is. Didn't think to look there. Figured it would be on the dash somewhere. For some reason I missed the entire line of tabs at the top of the map for the other UIs early. Then realized why after being informed of the tabs. Usually tabs are highlighted and off center. Being centered and not very distinct... I missed them.
The 140%? Does it increase beyond 100 as the UCC depletes to keep 1g?
Something else that needs to be done is some sort of alarm system to let you know when a UCC goes down while your driving. Not nice having your climate control or oxygen system go down and not know about it until the little (and quite easily missed) 'you're about to die' beep goes off and it is just about too late to do something about it. Need a warning the moment a system goes down and a loud distinct one at that.
Are you just used to seeing warning lights popping up on your dash? Because there is one for each UCC offline that will pop up along your bottom row of dash lights
Audio ques were more what I was suggesting. Sometimes get super focused on avoiding obstacles and such other things that can take your eyes off the dash,
You can wedge two more on top of the bed, and another one on the opposite side by opening it on the slanted surface, it has just too little room for it to fully open
The percentages shown is the rate of battery drain per hour. A battery drain rate of 140% means you are using 140% of your battery per hour, which means you need to change it around three times every two hours. Meanwhile, a battery drain rate of 50% means you need to change that battery once every two hours. You can lower the percentages by either reducing the power consumption of the system (e.g. turning off rear and mezzanine lights when you aren't out of your seat) or you can use a bigger battery (since battery has more charges to consume, it means it might not reach the end of the battery before the hour is up).
