Yes now you was, and before you said your are even deleteing it from your wishlist... all you wrote above is readable. Every single childish sentence... if that wasnt sarcasm or a funny joke, then no one will miss your buy.... you know what? i even consider to buy the dlc just to spend them a few bucks they are missing because of your loss....
That's why they have the option to lower those settings. So people can play without worrying about the survival aspect. The issue is you have to restart to do it.
I spent 50k yesterday on upgrades tinkering and holy smokes the hull reinforcement one is actually so nice, I tested it by plowing through tiny debris going 85mph and my hull barely moved and didn't even make the oh crap I made accident noise lol. If I would play again from the start I would absolutely prioritise this upgrade for sure. (I just straight up maxed it out) shock ones great too for going to spark city.
I then spent a couple hours doing barrows final mission while trading collecting low and selling high in a few areas and came out with another 60k and am about 130k again, its a rough game to start but it kind of takes money to make money and to trade along routes while your trucking.
Game starts rough but once you stabilise your economy and stop the bleeding you kinda can really get on a roll. My a ha moment was hey, I can buy these extra air filters in a zone that was super on sale up to -5000 and just stocked up on a few (had some extra money not much)... did missions while keeping an eye out where to sell them high and got out of debt and just.... did it again... and again... and again. Don't fear the debt embrace it and make it work for you.
Games got a learning curve for sure but once you understand trading and become not scared of debt and stop getting traffic tickets and not get into accidents every zone(save scummed to learn the ropes) then its really not that bad guys.
1) Never jump through gates with no load, always try to get a load that needs to get dropped off where you actually want to go.
2) rotate partially dead batteries through the CORE systems of the truck and deplete them entirely. Also turn off all lights and put climate control on minimum
3) have a spare salvage box, when you find salvage beacons and ALWAYS salvage these beacon
4) Unlock the additional levels for cargo job types as soon as you can, the additional money you earn helps alot
5) Unlock the eva upgrade and one of the cabin weight upgrades as soon as you can
6) the multi trailer unlock does NOT do what you think it does, allow you to haul for two different jobs at the same time (its honestly stupid this doesn't do that for a mid tier upgrade.)
7) related to 6, multi trailer jobs pay nearly the same as single trailer jobs, and multi trailer jobs have this weird glitch where the trailers can randomly unhitch themselves (this just seems broken)
8) Air Filters "die" slower the more of them you have equipped at the same time, so only keeping one equipped and just swapping them out as they die isn't as good as equipping two or three.
9) In regards to multi battery systems and air filters, it does benefit you to let one of the units run down a bit before installing a new one, that way you always have ONE at 100%, the other at about 50%, or in the case of air filters, 100,75,50%. You benefit from the efficiency of the wear and tear, but they don't all go out at the same time requiring you to swap 2 or 3 units at once, which can be expensive.
10) SAVE OFTEN, generally when at Job boards or Shops. Being docked connects you to the station power and makes a good save spot/log off spot. So when you come back you can take all the time you want planning your next move without using resources.
If that helps, don't hesitate to rotate your truck to match your target's alignment. That often makes it easier to use directions afterwards. It does for me anyway.
And also, it deosn't matter if you're upside down. The docking/Hitching sequence will automatically adjust you to the gate or the cargo to you.
This is Steam, the forums are always full of people complaining about new releases, are you new here? People who are happy rarely come to the forums to shower praises on the devs while you'll get people complaining that recommended difficulty is too hard but they refuse to change to custom difficulty because reasons.
60% of people didn't finish the tutorial? Cool, that's actually pretty normal for games, look at Skyrim's tutorial rate finish rate and that game has like a 94% rating... This is a $20 title, people are going to buy it just to have it, especially the hardcore trucker community, they'll buy it and wait for peripheral support to be added.
70% stopped before reaching rank 5? Clearly you don't know the game at all, rank 5 is a long ways off, I'm not even there yet and I'm about 15 hours in. The idea that 30% of the playerbase has already reached rank 5, now that just tells me they're absolutely loving the game and basically playing it all the time.
Also, 74% even though it doesn't have custom keybinding or stick support? It's a space game without stick support, of course people are going to be mad about that. Then add to it that almost every YTer explains it as "Trucking in space" even though it's not really similar to ATS/ETS at all. People are complaining about bad advertising when the devs haven't advertised it at all, it's been word of mouth and a lot of people are just lying.
This game is more similar to a strategy game based on resource management then a trucking game in space.
Also complaining about jump gates in a space game would be like complaining about highways existing in a trucking game. Do you complain about all the warping that needs to be done in NMS or ED? Cause you gotta warp constantly in those games as well.
It's fine, people are just impatient and whiney.
5hours into my Hardcore run, level 9, just cashed in and have $15k to spend on upgrades
The problem is, it's the RECOMMENDED difficulty for new players and the tutorials don't train new players in all the mechanical knowledge needed to stay alive and continue the game.
- Lights drain batteries
- Air filters are separate from Air System batteries
- UCCs are a thing and you need to turn off the breaker or risk blowing everything
- Trading is a great way to make money
- Maintenance Bay shops always have batteries, UCCs, air filters and shock pods
- What the hell 'contraband' is before you get pinged by sector security checkpoints
If they reworked their Tutorial mission to be completely scripted to show these things, Recommended would be the true 'normal' difficulty.
