Guide to not go broke
OK first of all when you jump into the game minute one finish the tutorial section

2. take all the goods on your truck that arent batteries etc and sell them
3. with that money youve got approx 7-10k open the map look for the nearest system with a -20% or better price on any good preferably electronics/clothes/chemicals
4. fly to that system buy all the on sale stuff put yourself in debt with all the stuff thats on sale grab a battery or 2 now you are in 10k debt
5. find the nearest system that has a +xx modifier on the goods you just bought and find a hauling job that either passes that system or stop in it
6. sell everything you should now be in the green 14k ish
7. unlock the areas that need shock absorbers these systems buy electronics and energy at +25% very regularly you will make ludicrous money on these systems
8. rinse repeat

You do NOT want to upgrade your truck until you have a bunch of batteries UCCs and air filters stocked up

Using this above method ive made well over 100k and the game is a joke in terms of economy now

that said you MUST drive on the "road" if you go over 115 kmh your truck will start to drift around when you turn but at 110 you can turn with next to 0 sliding cruise control is your
friend here i dont know if upgrading your truck helps with sliding but the 4 or 5 times i upgraded thrusters it hasnt so id say probably no

All in all the payment for actually delivering goods is a joke and should be seen as a necessary evil in order to actually make money while doing arbitrage.

When you make 1 sale and it says +49k you'll see what i mean.....

The game can and will be extremely punishing to small mistakes but once you get a little better at flying and you go slower youll find that dodging rocks becomes an option rather than rolling the dice on turning and hitting the e brake

avoid illegal goods like alcohol drugs and the other one i cant think of the fines for having just one is...... not worth the heartache just skip it they dont sell for good money anyways.

I'm playing a HC run right now and it's doable but you have to abuse the game to work it.

- Snag a job before leaving the starting station (highest payout)
- - Turn off cab lights and air conditioner blower

- Immediately fly to the upgrade station but dock at the store
- - Sell off everything but batteries, air filters and UCCs
- - - BUY CARDBOARD BOXES ANY TIME YOU CAN
- - Put everything into hardcases/cardboard, wedge into shelves
- - Pull batteries from both the Suit Dock and Gravity Generator, put in hardcases

With UCCs installed in the Grav Gen and Suit Dock but no batteries, they only work when connected to a station but that's fine. You should have no loose cargo now and the Suit Dock drains batteries like a dying man in the desert guzzles water. On HC, you basically get one salvage per basic battery ($1000) but station power is free and you're not likely to find more than one salvage per few deliveries anyways due to the reduced spawn in HC.

- Upgrade the following
- - Fuel efficiency to +25%
- - Thruster Temp +10%
- - Truck Insulation to +30%
- - If you can, upgrade Suit Recharge to whatever you can

Now, here's the kicker, you have no SAFE credit limit ($2500) but you have unlimited UNSAFE credit limit. Basically, you can go unlimited negative balance to buy batteries, air filters, UCCs, Fuel Cans, Expressway Jumps and fuel station refills but you have to get out of the negative balance before 24hrs of ingame time elapses or gameover.

- Take jobs that move you around Atlas
- - Buy every battery and spare fuel you find
- - Sell all medium and high grade battery along with fuel cans whenever passing through Atlas

Continue to upgrade Fuel Efficiency, Truck Insulation and Suit Recharge Speed until maxed. Then start upgrading Hull Strength and whatever else.

Congrats! You've beaten HC (or any other difficulty)!

Just remember to upgrade your Shock Resistance to rank 5 or better before actually flying through those zones due to lower base resistance on HC and you're good to go.

I assume everything i wrote works in hardcore you just need to rank up resists and such before going to the shock zones
i just sold in purgatory and netted 68k +48% electronics price
id bet hardcore is the exact same you just need to be more "choosey" of what you run
personally I wont be running on HC any time soon
sadly the early game hit me HARD and i wasnt taking the simulator part seriously so i had 1 run go -45k basically instantly got into a death loop cuz i couldnt buy air filters none were for sale

The #1 tip is unlock the scanner ASAP by doing missions. Moon Baby mission with an arrow up. This will allow you to to scan for space salvage (Eye icon) and you'll be rich in no time. Upgrade that module range ASAP as well.

Yeah, with the game's current state, as soon as you unlock the scanner, you no longer need to haul anything to make a fortune. Each salvage location is a potential gold mine. Anything you'll find will be either something worth selling or worth keeping. Sure, there will lots of cheap $15 packs of sodas, but also batteries that you can stock on.. and also those $3000 air filters! Plenty of contraband also. And no matter if your secret storage is full or you haven't unlocked it yet, there's always a way to reach a black market by carefully picking sectors with no security checkpoints. Furthermore, if you spend money to upgrade the scanner, it will spot many salvage locations at once.
