Heheheheh. It might not be an "official" spinoff, and I don't know if the creators had even read/watched Bebop when they first solidified their concept, but it certainly does feel like it could have come from the same universe, or at least a very close parallel ;)

I thought of Cowboy Bebop when I first saw the game too; but then I learned there is actually a movie called "Space Truckers" a few years before Cowboy Bebop which also fits this concept.
