Star Trucker: Radio Silence from Devs Raising Concerns
I'm really puzzled by the lack of communication surrounding Star Trucker. With the release just days away, there's still so much we don't know. No pre-orders, no system requirements, no pricing, and no word on DLCs. This isn't the norm for a game launch, and it's making me uneasy. It feels like we're being left in the dark, and it's hard not to worry that the game might not be ready for prime time.

Has anyone else noticed this? What are your thoughts?

my thoughts are that games 20 years ago were just lay in the store without a word from anyone :lunar2019piginablanket:
NGL, after reading this post i realised i feel the same. They haven't posted a dev blog in two months, the last update was more than a month ago. The dev literally said "I'll show you some things you might have noticed in the trailer", well what are you waiting for??

on the other hand: preorders for indie games usually don't happen, they've never said anything about DLCs which makes me think that they want to focus on the full release first, and the system requirements might be a thing that takes time to figure out - but i really don't know anything about that part

Apparently there is an AMA coming up Sep 2nd on r/trucksim reddit.

I agree that it's a little unconventional to say or show next to nothing since announcing a launch date. I don't know if anything new was showcased at Gamescom or elsewhere.

Being an old and jaded, I'm not holding out much hope for new gameplay beyond what was experienced in the demo other than a larger map and unlocked truck customisation. I'm not expecting missing or new mechanics to be implemented. I would be really happy to be wrong come launch day though, I was looking forward to this one.

Any news on pricing?
It is actually the norm for indie game launches. Most end up very busy the month or so prior to launch. Afaik, its only a 2 person dev team, so they probably don't have the time to keep us update to date every week like larger studios with the budget/people.
Maybe they are busy....

Yeah, peopel releasing game in 1 week are usually busy.
yes, very strange. Why do you even have a publisher if they don't do their job? but I think there's just a lack of content. i think we get the demo with the finished world map. it's a full release, and I don't believe in DLC or major updates.
