Go from A to B, do a little maintenance in between, and that's it.
That's the whole point of the genre.
Goods...must....flow..... :)
1) kill anything you see on screen
2) go from A to B
3) get from A to B faster than others
4) survive to random things on screen for as long as possible.
The demo of course has not much as it is a demo; most likely it is not even a vertical slice but just a build made for posting it on Steam (which is great BTW, every developer that post a demo should get 10% more on their sales IMO, as they are being very honest in showing the actual product).
As far as what is the point: the relaxing environment and the fun of going from a place to another. But I agree with you that if you just do a ETS/ATS in space, it is boring as space is... Empty :) While driving somewhere show you different places and vistas, here you see nothing really, it is very realistic in a way but has no appeal. Beside driving the truck and fixing it, it would be great to have also something to look at, as you do in ETS/ATS or challenges of driving on small roads for example, which does not apply to space.
Star Citizen is working on the cargo (& economy) refactor now, by looking to add deep and immersive systems (full logistical chain etc). Might take a while though...
The demo is on steam.
There is also hard truck apocalypse, but good luck to make it run.
And finally, Wasteland crew should be released this year. But there is no direct driving in that one though.
So gameplay = killing and fighting in your mind?
Gotta broaden those horizons bruv.
I guess we'll see what the devs make of this game soon enough...
Great title (especially the earlier seasons).
