The engine they're using has been mistaken to be Unreal on a few occasions. So not too bad. What's to be sorry about?

The fact that you made this looks so good using Unity is really impressive. All things considering most Unity projects are not great lookers.

While you're right about majority of unity projects, some of them could potentially be quite polished and have very impressive-looking assets and animations, sure, thouthands low-end project might make a bad reputation for the engine, but star trucker has pretty nice visuals.
