[SPOILERS] Travel events do not make sense with my current caravan.
I'm in Chapter 6, I believe, and I arrived in the town where I'm supposed to wait for Juno. I wait, and I wait, and I wait and she doesn't arrive after ~30 days.

I go to leave, but the other Mender says to stay. So I stay another ~30 days. She still doesn't show.

I go to leave, but the other Mender still wants to stay a while longer. So I stay another ~40 days. She *still* doesn't show.

So I start to get the picture that she's probably not going to show up at all. Unfortunately, by this time all of my clansmen, fighters, and varl are all long dead from starvation. (While I understand the idea of "no takebacks" in this game and overall like this element of it, I somewhat feel like the game was telling me to stay in down and I wasted my caravan on a gamble that I hadn't actually waited long enough.)

After leaving the village I'm getting a series of events that don't make any sense. For example:

Event #1: "Those outlaws you picked up stole your supplies in the night!" The outlaws died of starvation, and there are no supplies for them to steal.

Event #2: "Onef approaches you and asks you how many strangers we have in the carvan, etc." This is a longer interaction sequence in which most of his questions don't make sense because we have an empty caravan.

Maybe I was too foolish in allowing my caravan to die off, but given that I don't have a caravan it seems like the events in the game should take this into account.

Yes the game doesn't adapt to states like not having food or an empty caravan. That's very weird when it happens.

They probably should have just ended the game when your caravan died.

Things aren't always clear, but I stayed for two days in the town and then hightailed it out of there. I still lost people to starvation along the way, but not nearly as many. I think you should've gotten the clue after a couple of days of nothing happening. In every other situation in this game that's required waiting you would get a prompt after each time you rested if there was something new. In this case, there wasn't, so you should have moved on.

Honestly, staying maybe a week or two I could understand, but staying as long as you did should've been a game over as tvardary stated. That was some very poor decision making.

Starting to get the picture after 3 months of waiting, when the longest passage afoot between aberrang and skogr is somewhat around a month... Well, you're a bit slow on decisions, don't you :p

Saying that I do agree that some events could have a bit more of work into them. For example in your situation you'd probably be overrun by dredge at the end of week 2 of waiting.

if you have your entire caravan die, they should patch it so your game ends on that day. there is currently no penalty for having 0 caravan population, and thus no penalty for having 0 supplies (which leads to 0 population). and not caring about population or supplies, you could care less about war (level of difficulty of battles affect population loss, who cares if population doesnt matter) and care less about buying supplies from market (instead buying items/promotions). That breaks many game mechanics.

Actually, there is an achievement for finishing the game without ever getting bad morale. I suppose you'll hardly have a good morale with 0 food. So, there is at least some motivation. :-)

lol if population doesnt matter, then you can just skip all battles with the oversee option (other than the required battles), you wont care about population loss if you already have 0 :)

Mmm so if all caraven die but one peasant it's fine and if that peasant die you lost?

For me have a morale non concrete reward would be enough. I do understand the end is focused on an emotional moment. But before that the end could have a short part highlighting those that survived in caravan with something if the number is past a number, and something else if it is bellow that number.

Number of people in caravan should affect the events in Boesgard. So basically you can loose even before Bellower arrives. The less people you have, the harder defendint the gates become. Some bad events inside the city, etc. You can't have happy end in this game, so the number of people should make the difference between not that good ending and disastrous. It only seems logical to be this way, but for some reason wasn't done or not active. Like it is now, the game permits you to be a complete cannibal, which isn't bad by itself, but there should be some difference in the end.

I feel like there should be a game over after, say, two weeks with no food. It really can get comical like it is now.

Yes, two weeks without food is a good reason for mutiny.

OBVIOUS SPOILERS AHEAD

Well, at least for me it does, If you uhave zero figters and varl left, you get the Dredge breaking through the gates and you get several options, on most which you can lose Krumr If he's guarding the gates, not sure if this would happen if you didn't put him to guard the gates)

So there is a difference?
