[SPOILERS] Anyone have a good strategies to defeat Bellower?
I'm on Chapter 7 if I recall correctly where I have to widdle down Bellowers armor and shoot him with the silver arrow.

Well, I'm having a very hard time. By the time I take out all the others surrounding him, I have maybe 2 heavily wounded party members left. Not to mention Bellower one hit kills 95% of the time.

I don't really understand how I'm supposed to win this battle.
Most of my characters are level 3-4, but I have one level 5 and perhaps one level 2. I know I am at a disadvantage there, as I had to spend the majority of my renowed of supplies for my Caravan.

Even so, I have the Health maxed out on the majority of my party and regardless bellower generally one hit kills all of them.

Anyone got a good strategy? I'm pretty stuck here.

Focus on Bellower and forget the others if possible. Try it on easy first, and once you know how to deal with it, load a previous checkpoint and try again on normal ;)

That's how I beat it on normal... but I had four level 5, one level 4 and one level 3.

I managed to kill all of his lackeys, got him down to 0 armor, but still the game didn't allow me to cast Silver Arrow. Am I missing something?

@Bonelazy: Also happen to me the first time...i gave the Arrow to Alette but used all of my willpoints before Belltower was at 0 Armor. Then i was no more able to use Silver Arrow; so if you ran out of Willpoints on this hero and have no more to spent you can reload

It's kind of weird. Not sure if it's a bug, but they wouldn't let me cast the arrow even if Belltower had 0 armor. I tried it on Easy and it went fine. Not sure what you're supposed to do. Maybe (just maybe) you're supposed to down him to 1 health on Normal ? When he's at 5 health every attack deals 1 damage to him.

the hero with the arrow need at least one will point (the stars) to cast Silver Arrow

you will need armor break for the easiest go. hopefully you have an item that will grant you an extra 2 or 3 to that. Iver and Mogr with max armor break + armor break item is best way.

then weaken the others but dont kill, until you have him in position. save your willpower. when you get both the armor breakers on him, unleash with willpower. best scenario it happens right after his turn. break his armor and hit him with silver arrow. dont forget to save on willpower for it. if you dont have any, kill one mob to get one, use horn then pop em with the arrow.

second phase. get to him asap, break armor and unleash dps on him. only he has to die in either phase. good luck

also, if you weaken the mob that summons others, dont kill him. let him summon, itll delay Bellowers turn even more

Yeah like I said, I managed to kill all the other dredge once but Bellower simply one hit kills my party. Even if I somehow took out all his party without a scratch, he still does 18 damage per hit every time he's hit one of my party members.

I know that the arrow needs at least one willpower, that's not my issue haha.

you don't have to bring his armor down to 0, you just have to make Alette (or Rook's) ability count for 100% (strength equal or higher than his current armor)

dont kill the smaller AI units, maim them to low strength so they are basically a waste of a turn. you should kill them if they try to tremble (summon another unit) or those pesky bomb throwers.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try that.

Though...I thought enemies got STRONGER when they were low on health? Maybe I'm confused.

Strength is both your HP and your attack power in this game, as units get injured their attacks get weaker.
Also if Strength is less than the opposing targets armour there's a chance the attack will be deflected entirely.

You only have to kill bellower. I would actually let the summoners finish their summons because it takes several turns for the little guys to get into combat. Focus archers. If you managed to pick up any of the bonus to armor damage items equip them on your archers. You can actually fully break bellowers armor after his first move if you arrange your archers right and you have maxed your willpower usage stat. Just put your three/four archers in a cluster and arrange their initative order, and use the belt and the fishhook to do bonus damage to armor and let your silver arrow bearer go last. Add your two tankiest units, and save your willpower in the second round for hits on Bellower. Since he will get a free move every time you hit him you need to make sure you hit him hard.

Yeah I know that I just had the whole lower health=less damage mixed up. Hmm

Sounds like a great tactic but unfortunatly I wasn't able to level up my people as much as I would like, once that yox carriage fell off the mountain with 41 supplies, I was in really bad shape and had to spend all my renowned of supplies instead of promotions.

Had to turn the difficulty down myself, really disappointed with the boss fight. Rest of the game was bang on, then walked into a brick wall at the end that my party composition just couln't get round.

Worst thing is, Easy is so easy I finished the fight in about 6 turns half asleep.
