NPC that remember
Just discovered 'Forty Niner' and had an idea about enhancing its gameplay. What if there was a dynamic system where NPCs react uniquely to player actions? For instance, if you end up in a shootout and John Walker’s son is a casualty, John could react in various ways: seeking direct revenge, hiring others if he can’t find you, or even befriending you for a long-term betrayal.

I realize implementing a system like this, reminiscent of a nemesis system, is complex and has been attempted in bits by other indie games. It’s a challenge but could make 'Forty Niner' stand out.

That's a great idea, we had some thoughts regarding unique NPC actions and will definitely develop some.

has some neat stuff not sure if your NPC will be on that level (but can't see why not it'd probably be more fun in a western :P)
