Wizardry Variants Daphne

What equipment should i upgrade?
So, my main party is: Berkanan (49) - MC warrior (41) - Lana (49) / Alice (49) - Yakaterina (48) - Iarumas (48), i've been using mostly +4 and some +5 steel gear. The furthest i was able to get with this team was the first horse boss in Guarda fortress, and i don't think i'm beating that thing at this point, so i want to upgrade my team as much as i can, so i can say for sure that if i die to something, it's not because of my poor equipment.

I was thinking on farming on Guarda fortress and try to get Ebonsteel stuff, but what should i prioritize? Equipment with green / blue / purple rarity, or the ones that have higher star counts?

Also, is there any "effective" weapon to use in the backline aside the bow? I noticed that my guys miss a lot when equiped with normal swords if they are in the backline, is it because of formation or just bad luck?

There's a Helmut you can get from the Cave of Malice that helps with the horse's instant death attack.

For backrow weapon, the only effective weapons are Lance and Bow. But if you use Presision shot skill from Thief, you can hit normally with any weapon if I'm not mistaken.

As for farming the sewer, actually getting good Ebonsteel gear from the sewer level is as rare if not more rare then getting good steel gear from the 2nd Abyss. Although, subpar Ebonsteel gear still stronger then good iron gear that I was using. And it's not by a small amount.

evasion is your friend if you are struggling with it. Try to get like 120 evasion on front row and buff their evasion with priest and debuff the horse accuracy & speed.
And abyss 3 supposed to be challenged after prepping like 2 weeks to 1 month.
Day 1 player have like over 3 months to prepare for it, so they have easier time.
So take your time and Savor the risk.

I beat the horse at the same level you are at right now. Iarumas killed him. Everyone else can just focus on staying alive. Give Iarumas all the positive magic stuff you can, use Mental Unity to boost his tzalik to destroy the horse boss.

Obviously give him the best magic staff you have.

Put him behind Elise if you can as she will boost him a bit.

I didn't have that great of equipment and wasn't doing well against him... but then Iarumas came along and that was that.

It might have taken 2 tries.

Iarumas is the only tool you need for that fight, and you already have that tool.

Looks like you're already mostly ready. Get expulsion weapons, you don't really need the arcane staff but it's nice to have if you get it by the time you reach it.

If you have any backline fighters then put a spear on them. If you have a thief in the backline then use bow but on harder fights use hiding, swap to daggers, and spam sneak attack. Stack lots of evasion for frontline thief.

Debuff boss with batilgrief (?) and dilto/blinding which lowers action speed, evasion, and accuracy on the boss. Keep evasion and defense up on the party and just revive anyone unlucky enough to die to insta-kill. Someone mentioned the helmet from cave of malice you can try but you can also kill it without.
