Is where its at, it adds many weapons with a focus on realism and changes resistances on enemies among a ton of other things. Makes the game much more tactical.
Other good mods are:
http://www.strategycore.co.uk/files/tornado-mod-ufo-al/
Which changes tornados to attack everything instead of teaming up against you with whoever is on the map.
http://www.strategycore.co.uk/files/afterlight-vision-rebalance-mod/
Doubles view distance so your people can actually see things in BROAD DAYLIGHT on an empty plain that are further than 20m away(So your not fighting dancing yellow ? all the time).

Later on the constant attacks can become annoying, you can drop this mod into a running game any time they start bothering you.

The last one isn't a mod so much as a skin, it removes the cartoony colors from your equipment and makes them look like actual military equipment, there is a brushed metal and urban look, pick whichever you like.
The first one comes with a couple other mods bundled that you have to install seperately if you want, i recommend them all. Installation is a piece of cake, basicly drop the files into the games main directory and copy the localization file(only the first one has it) into the same subfolder in the main directory.
Elitism isnt cool, it just shows you put value on things that literally have no value in reality.
I see this comment on the mod page:
Used to be awesome, but doesn't work properly now. I get some weird number and a internal name (like: 2014::FireExtinguisher) instead of the real name. This also happens with the descriptions, so I don't know what half the stuff is. Also, I think it breaks functionality of some items.
Forum is offline too, so there's no place to get help.
Another Question:
What do you think about the advanced mission mod? Is it stable and good? And compatible with the rebalance mod`?
Traded my only shotgun for a couple of laser rifles and never looked back.
However, with that said...I would frequently take only a single sniper on missions.
With a Sniper Rifle, Dual Pistols and a sword.
If anything makes this game easy, I'd probably say it's the dual pistols, this soldier was able to hit with 99% accuraccy up to about 5m away, and did an incredible amount of damage with a single hit, knocking out half the health of a "normal" enemy soldier instantly and firing 3-4 times a second.
It was pretty insane, to be honest with you.
As soon as I finish this run-through, I'm going to try again on impossible/hard.
