Cant destroy hypergate generator?

So I'm on a "destroy the hypergate generator" mission, I've cleared out every beastman, I plant my dynamite right next to the generator, wait for it to go off, it explodes and the generator isn't destroyed. I've tried several angles, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

I decided to shoot at it instead, and after emptying half a dozen rifle clips, it was destroyed. I suppose that works, but I'm still curious as to why the dynamite did not work, even though I have seen video walkthroughs of it working.

If i remember rigth the hypergate generator will need more then one explosiv after a while. :) They change color to reflect that if i remember right

The warp cannon can destroy the hypergate generator, sometimes even with one shot.

You can use Explosive Device or Rockte Laucher is a Alternative.
I forgot Granade Launcher or Alien Weapon with Explosive and Robot Weapon.
