Edit: Especially no as this isn't even remotely a TC game. They took an event from RB6S from several years ago and made a microtransation infested game with it. Steer clear.
It happened with the previous NFS and the last NFS, when the devs abandoned was dirty cheap.
You have to be confusing this game with Siege if you believe that this game is "microtransaction infested". The only microtransactions to speak of in this game, apart from the DLC bundles, are cosmetic skins, most of which are free and can be earned by progressing in the game naturally, and only some of which require premium currency to unlock. Said premium currency can earned by playing the games Maelstrom mode, which the game already expects you to play a lot of, or spending real money which is the secondary option. Unlike Siege, which has a battle pass, loot boxes, limited paid bundles which can cost up to $50-$100, and premium currency that you need to spend real money to get on top of having a ludicrous grind/ currency ratio.
All that aside, the event that this game was based on was a fan favorite event from Siege which the devs of Extraction expressed interest in making a game based around it. It is NOT the exact same event from all of those years ago copy and pasted over into a new game. Extraction is much bigger, refined, and complex compared to the original event with much more content and variety.
Don't see how this is a red flag. Ubisoft frequently puts it's games on sale with discounts as high as 85% off at a time. This is nothing new or unique for Extraction. In fact, they've been doing it more frequently now more than even because the company is going through financial struggles.
I take it you enjoy the game? You seem to be a pretty staunch defender of it. Would like to hear why you like it, then maybe I'll change my mind. That's what this whole thread is about after all. Thanks!
True! I got Riders Republic on sale for $15 when it came to Steam and I am having a lot of fun with it!
Oof, I just saw that it's already abandoned by the developers. Now THAT is a red flag. Womp.
The only real problem is that dev stopped developing this game after 1 major patch (the one with new zombies, mutations etc).
Extraction is very much a spin-off from the Tom Clancy universe, taking place in an alternate reality, but I enjoy it. Playable solo, but it's best with company. Worth $10, IMO, but it doesn't look like Ubisoft plans to do much else with it.
