[AUDIO ISSUE] Music cutting out, stuttering, distorting, or stopping.
Current Workaround

Though less than ideal, a solution for the time being is to save the game, and reload from there. This should restart the audio buffer in a clean state, so long as the background music changes while doing this.

The Problem

You may experience the background music halting and stuttering in parts, which sounds similar to a broken music loop. In other cases the audio may come to overlap instead, causing the track to bleed together with itself. Creating all kinds of potential audio artifacts. Sometimes the music completely stops after long periods of playback.

A wide variety of problems are all related to the same timing bug.

An attempt was made to fix this, but due to some deeper technical issues, the new solution was found to be unstable and had to be dropped.

This issue will be revisited during or after the development of the final episode.

Thanks for everyone making the reports and with helping to identify the problem.

The issue can and often does compound over time. The longer a track is playing, the more chances a stall of some kind can introduce these glitchy offsets in playback.

You're most likely to encounter this problem when leaving the game running idle for long periods.

Big report in the actual thing
Hey so idk if it worked or not but I'm sending it again in the actual sub discussion thing so it may actually been seen by devs but the audio past episode 1 is glitched except for songs used in episode one idk if that's just me but it's happening even after I closed and restarted the game (I had played from the beginning again so it's not a save state issue) as I said idk if anyone else has this issue or a solution to said issue but if the devs could sort it soon please because playing the game without music isn't that fun:leyhappy:
Episode 2; Music going dead silent briefly when preparing dinner for Mother
This happens after Andrew offers to cook dinner for his mom. The music for this sequence stops momentarily before resuming.
After pressing Alt Tap the music continues a bit then stops. When i switch back not even the sound effect work. So it cuts all audio.
Bell sound cuts off
When you attract the ghosts to the table with flowers
Vision of voicemails
Phone sound is ever so slightly delayed during the vision of voicemails
also not ideal, but a piece of advice, i have not had any issues with audio, however i have been always using a free software called voicemeeter. those desperate and tech enthusiastic enough to try may do so, but be warned, it can be a pita to setup until you learn.
Was about to report this, but i saw you were alredy working on it. it's not that big of a deal, though sometimes it can be a bit annoying in certain parts of the game where the music is a must have. In Episode 3 the audio glitches way more than the rest of the gameplay for me. After releasing such a big update i guess it's expected to have some things to fix up.

This only occurred for me after the latest bug fix, v3.0.8
Before this I have never had this error before in previous versions.
Music bug (EP 2-3)
Straight to the point. In some parts of the game, the music just mutes in a specific time then comes back. it's patterned for some reason.
BGM Error
I wonder if others have experienced this as well or if it's just me.

After the Episode 3 update, certain BGM tracks will just cut midway through playing. The first time I noticed it was in the school cafeteria at the beginning of the flashback (i.e. after the initial puzzles as the Grime Soul). In the middle of talking or exploring, I forget which, the BGM would just stop and then resume at a later point, possibly after a sound effect plays.

At first, I thought it was intentional, almost like a "sanity effect" inserted to build tension, but I found upon replaying the recording that the full BGM was playing the whole time yet, somehow, I couldn't hear it during actual gameplay.

Later on, when I started a new game to aim for a new ending, I found a similar bug in Episode 1, confirming it's not restricted to the new content.

The track "Dream Dance" especially seems to fall prey to this, but it's not the only one. Some tracks are completely unaffected.

So, is it just me and the low-end PC I was using, or have others experienced this bug? Does anyone have any leads on what might be causing it?
