Personnally, I think it is better this way.
Most people refer to this game as the "incest game", however there is much more to TCOAAL than just incest, if Nemlei happened to make actual NSFW scenes, then she'd somehow give them reason.
Also, for people complaining that "yes but I bought it for the incest part" first of all, question your own sanity 'cause bro wtf, and secondly, Nemlei never mentionned that she'd make such uncensored scenes.

I'm gonna be the giga chad here and say that incest is a kino fetish and kino trope. Part of the reason I find it so attractive is precisely because of the tensions and dynamics. It's not the same as friends to lovers or enemies to lover there's a little more to their relationship which makes it more interesting to me. Know I'm late to the party on this one but as far as the writing. I haven't played Nemlei's other games so I can't comment on how well it works in those but I think it works for this game for a few reasons 1. This world is an over the top satire so they don't have to talk like real people and 2. it fits the time period and aesthetic not only do these two not have the best social skills but the reason they talk like edgy goth kids from the late 90s/early 00s is because that's what they are. I mean just look at them, they look like the kinda people who would talk like this

If the previews are anything to go by. It seems we'll get some wincest vibes between the two in decay but the burial route looks to be the happier route for sure

how do you keep the gun???
andrew uses all the bullets on the hitman
makes also wonder what if you keep the gun but go the love route, will gun be useful afterwards in ep3 or 4

I'd imagine the gun is mostly for the decay ending but who knows. I mean there's bound to plenty of opportunities to get bullets and use the gun else where. They're gonna deal with cultists and perhaps even the government so I can imagine they'll have to use that gun more than once
