Andrew has such a positive view of the sunflowers/julia, and such a negative one of pink/ashley. He wants to water/nurture the Sunflowers yet it's the pink that grows and takes over his mind. It's a good visual metaphor for obsession.
Personally though, I prefer shots/splat but the reason I'm not citing an example from it is because everything from the apartment onwards is peak! I can't single out a single scene when it's all so good. From the couch conversations, to the phone call with Julia, to the IRL encounters with Julia and Friend B. In shots/splat, you see the siblings be a lot more emotionally vulnerable each other than you do in Cliffhanger. Which makes the tragic fact of it not working out more poignant.
I don't know why. I think that it's because Leyley's heart breaking reminds me of someone I used to know.
"It's you and me, no one else."
"I-it's Andy and Leyley forever and ever."
How do I like this comment? I can totally agree with every word in it!
After all this.
Instead of wanting to outright kill her He's ready to end himself. Only choosing to live because Ashley.
Says that she couldn't live without him In despite the abusive terrible thing he has become. In the absolute threat he is to her life She'd rather not live in the world without him
Considering the game isn't done, it's so far the closest thing to a "happy ending."
Splat is fun in a morbid way but I just can't get behind them dying. :( It hurts... lol
Dang a lot of good mentions here. Hell I'll throw out another while it's on my mind.
Andrews stabbing the ground with the garden spade was another pretty good oomph moment for me. Suppose I agree that Decay overall was pretty great and hard to nail down a "best" moment.
It feels like a perfect ending despite not being the canon one.
All of it. Also seems I'm not the only a-hole who'd enjoyed Splat.
The call back to racing to the bottom was cute in such a morbid way. lmoa
1) The phone call in the parking lot is *jaw-dropping*; seeing the true depths of Andrew's inner sadist for the first time is equal parts terrifying and awe-inspiring. He was capable of this the entire time????
2) The scene in the star room at the top of the observatory. I screamed out loud and I don't think I need to tell you why.
3) The final scene of the cliffhanger??? Oh my god??? The TV inspect text in particular is a hell of a demonstration of just how completely unhinged our boy is...
Honorable mentions to S&S ending for sheer "Oh my god this is actually happening" points, and well, *EVERYTHING ELSE* what the hell this update is peak cinema, peak literature, peak horror, peak peak, I could go on for years about how well-written and engaging this all is AAAAAAAA I need more of my cannibal incest soap opera NOWWWWW
