The Coffin of Andy and Leyley

The Coffin of Andy and Leyley

Why doesn't leyley want to become Ashley?
In other words, why didn't Lily turn into Ashley in those two bad endings in the Decay Line? Is she unwilling? Are you afraid that after becoming Ashley, your brother Andrew won't be with her anymore? Or perhaps... I don't quite understand the meaning of the word 'decay' in this game. Perhaps because Ashley believed that childhood relationships were the most stable, didn't she want to go further? She doesn't seem to understand the concept of love either

It would mean she matures and she'd have to abandon her dream of being a child forever. If she were to change and become Ashley for Andrew, it'd mean the end of her fantasy of going on adventures with "Andy" forever.
In addition, Leyley becoming Ashley would imply "trust", meaning she could be with andrew without all the manipulations abuses ( physical, emotionnal and sexual). She'd have to have faith, trust in him... that ship has sailed a long time ago on that route.

Basically this. Despite what she say, she is scared of Andrew. She can't manipulate him as much as she can with Andy ( and in Burrial, she can't seems to manipulate him at all ). Her visions and both their choice to not trust eachother by the end of chapter 2 mean she won't have the maturity and trust to accept to change ( and by change, I don't mean becoming a good person, just becoming mature enough to keep her s**t together.)

Also, keep in mind, we don't really get to see what in her mind in this arc, since we mostly play as Andrew. But she is only half faking her crisis. She is THAT insecure.

True, 90% of what we see in that route is ANdrew's perspective. Even in her dream/visions, we don't get to find out how she feels. I mean, do you remember a puzzle where you found out stuff about ashley from Ashley's point of vue?

For what we learn in shots and such she just feels like the only "happy" moments in her life were when playing as andy and leyley, thats why she obsessed with turning him into andy, saddly Ashley unaware ass doesnt realise how miserable that makes Andrew.
Because she would lose her grasp over Andrew, which means she would no longer be able to live her fantasy of a relationship she never had as a neglected and creatively supressed child
Because Leyley is Ashley's armor, and Ashlyn is her vulnerability, and she doesn't really know how to deal with it.

I think this is the easiest and best way to describe it. well said.

Thanks<3
I think this is going to be the main premise of burial. Decay is the route where we get to explore Andrew's psyche and I think Burial is going to be the route where we explore Ashley's psyche and I'm looking forward to it.
Seems to be the case. I mean it makes sense
