Burial probably is more focused on the demon lore with the siblings staying on the same side but facing external danger while Decay pits them against each other.
I wonder how the Water company and the cult will factor into chapter 3. They have both been reoccuring factions that have been mostly kept in the background but mentioned enough to remain relevant.
Ashley clearly is mainly killing all the people that can be a problem between her and Andrew, so following this path, the ex girlfriend would be next.
If so, I agree too we'll have a different scenario (like in chapter two when killing the parents) where Andrew will do it without esitating cause she loves Ashley and the other one where Andrew will do it esitating and hating Ashley even more.
At this second point, we could possibly have the premonition become true where he tries to kill her? Or not? (Remember she can defend herself killing him first if the gun has one more bullet left)
So the game could end with :
- one of them death
- both of them death (the one who lives sacrifice him/herself to be with the other forever?)
- both of them live
Probably something bittersweet, but outright happy seems unlikely
In Decay, this might very well be what pushes him to decide he's had enough and try to kill Ashley as per her vision. But even in Burial, he might not have the power or the guts to stop Ashley if she sets her mind on killing Julia, but I can't imagine this not putting a strain on their relationship, which would be kinda anticlimactic after how they've been getting along better in this route.
