Though I suppose the double suicide in decay still implies it.
That's what I loved about the choices that split the routes, honestly; it comes down less to what the characters "would" do, and instead more to how the player, throughout the game so far, has personally contextualized and understood their dynamic.
I don't think we need to know the "canon" ending because of this. Each will be unique, yet still make sense for the characters themselves. But if one of them does get confirmed as the canon ending, I'll be very interested to see which is!
