Is this game like Growlanser? ... gameplay not the cartoon gals...
I ain't Japanese or chinese or something.... so I could only really understand the english versions of Growlanser which I thought were awesome games. Is this game's gameplay similiar to that?

Is this also the developers experiment in seeing the profitability in porting games? If so, i hope it succeeds.

Growlanser is an AMAZING series!! Too bad that Growlanser IV was only available in Japan. Growlanser V isn't as good as Growlanser 2 & 3.

IV was released in the west, on the PSP. It's called "Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time"

Yeah, Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time is my all time favorite too. It gets really hard at some points in the game but the combat was never boring despite the occasional grinding. The dialogues where great too and I liked how frequently you could chose what to say. The use of familiars in the game was brilliant also. The only downside is that english version doesn't have any voice acting.
If you lost your psp you can always still play it on a PC with the help of jpcsp. This game works very well with it.

The thing I would like to ask is...does the Agarest game have many dialogue/situation choices or just some here and there?

Sadly Career Soft is no more after Sega took over. And all their game's IP is believed to be transferred to Sega's Dream Corp now. So if there's going to be a remake of the Growlanser series it's going to be Sega and not Ideal Factory. But sadly they don't get much attention just like most of the Sega old games, after SAMMY took over SEGA, things have changed a lot... They are more into gambling business, gaming centers and theme parks building than the actual game developing nowadays and their game department is pretty small despite SEGA being a huge company. And even when they do add new games or doing remake of the old games, they somehow prioritized those games that pleases their bosses.. which are mainly Mafia nowadays.. so games like Yakuza gets more attention than games that do justice and righteous as story... company politics... :timeliegirlsad:

Career Soft themselves haven't been doing exactly well after leaving MASAYA. They are famous for making the Langrisser series which they continued to contribute as an indie company after leaving Masaya. But after MASAYA cut ties with them and develop Langrisser sequels with new teams... Career Soft create a new game title that inherited a similar world from Langrisser. So without a huge backup funding, Growlanser feeds off the fans from Langrisser, basically it lives off fan support/pity in the end without huge fund for advertising and such... that's why it ended up being bought over by Sega's Atlus later. And after creating Growlanser 4, the whole company is dissolved into Sega and is officially no more... Growlanser 5 and Growlanser 6 still has the "label" of Career Soft as a "brand name", but even that is changed later and everything is rebranded into "Atlus"...
