as for dlc. only dlc with bonus charakters are needed the rest is just extra fluff
Some of them add costumes, most of which are typical Japanese bath/swimsuit themed.
The vast majority of the DLC are cheats to speed up the game, giving you free items that let you skip a large portion of the game. These games are brutally slow and don't respect your time.
You really don't need them unless you want to skip playing most of the game.
Step 1, wait for sale.
Step 2, buy the bundle.
Step 3, buy all the DLC.
Step 4, plow through all the games (1, 0, 2, M).
