Could also be an older draft of the level somewhere within the files. It looks really good but unfinished, so maybe they just ditched it halfway through in favour of the less explicit and more authentic style the level now has.

Mod isn't unlikely though.

I know this post is old but this was originally how the level was gonna look like you can reimplement it in a hex editor but the boss doesn’t work for this version
