Interesting Game thus far

I've never heard of this game until Steam front page showed it to me. But my god, what a breath of a fresh air in the "Gacha" space. Finally something that isn't just another clone, or look-alike like Genshin Impact, and all the other crap Hoyo-verse puts out.

Don't get me wrong, not holding my breath for this game or anything as it's just "Another" Gacha game, but the story doesn't completely fall flat, the 2.5 3D overworld look pretty well done for what it is, and you're not mindlessly just switching between character to character in battles, and have 2 other Npc's help you out, with the OPTION to switch to them while fighting. They kind of went the more "Star Ocean", and "Tales Of" way.

The Story so far kind of reminds me of that Anime "No Life, No Game" with how everything is played out, but with the whole death spin thrown into it, it's actually pretty dark seeing someone get executed in what's basically an Iron Maiden, seeing one of your best friends get shot through the heart, and the other through the head, but all the same, the story does have me very interested for now, I imagine this dies off fast after a certain point. Not really sure how the whole Baseball thing worked into this, and have yet to make it a second part of said "mini-game" if that's even a thing, I just seen someone's "first impressions" who said it's about baseball, so far the only thing I've seen was in the very beginning of the story, and I've never seen it pop up again, but even if that's a thing, I usually HATE Sports Anime/Manga in general, but this has put an interesting twist on that for me now.

The writing in this game in generally done pretty well too, I like how there isn't like 97% giant Anime titty waifu's, while 2% Males characters, and 1% whatever the hell gender they decide to put into games. All the characters so far have been involved in the story thus far, and and are pretty interesting thus far as well. The Fat Comedy Relief character is hilarious, and it's a very welcome site than just another "Big tiddy Anime Waifu".

The way the exploration feels in this game too is very well done in the Overworld, with you moving from area to area, opening shortcuts, it very much reminds me of that Rip-Off Dark Souls Game, "Let it Die", if anything can be said that game did exploration really well too, always making backtracking worth it in way, not too sure how else to explain it, but that's the vibes this game is giving off.

I'm also guessing the purple outlines are other players dead bodies, and I love how they have little green souls that heal your party outside of battle, I'm just unsure how I'm seeing so many dead bodies Lvl 10, and below. The game seems relatively straightforward battlewise. I did end up using whatever currency they gave me to pull some chick with a Book, and some dude with a hammer, and the game essentially became a cakewalk with those two, and the main dude in a party. I basically use the girl with the book in the overworld to initiate combat, then once it begins use the main character dude's Ultimate, all while I'm pretty sure the Hammer guy is healing my party while everything goes BOOM, from combo to combo.

Enjoying the game so far, but I'm not a huge Gacha Person, and I'm sure the story will eventually dry up, become meaningless, and they'll fail to keep that dark aesthetic appeal to the story.

Will say though, if they ever do make enough money, they should consider making a single player game with a similar Story (excluding baseball/sports stuff).

Such a single-player game exists, the devs also made Danganronpa!

these are one of my favorite dev teams and they made a lot of story-heavy titles so I am pretty optimistic about the stuff in the future being as exciting as it is now :)

if you want other games with a similar vibe from the same devs then Danganronpa as someone pointed out already, Rain Code and The Hundred Line (which comes out soon but you can already check out the demo) might interest you as well
