I mean actually it ain't stupid, cause there is definitely no better time to full spend than doing it right now, and if you enjoy the game then you shouldn't regret it I gues?
In the end that's just what Gacha games are -> Cashgrab games
Just play the game and be happy about what you pulled, my F2P mentality would recommend you to save up all the currency you will get refunded in 2 days, so once a new character banner appears with a character you absolutely want to pull, then you are prepared more than enough.
But in the end, just do what you want mate.
Kind Regards
i must say what spend are already spent , think of it as u support the game and for your entertainment. u cant get that back and move on, learn from experience to not spent again in future unless u sure u want to do it.
I already spent in many other gacha and quit the game anyway because im not having fun anymore and i regret a lot ngl XD.
They SHOULD be illegal.
As already said, tomorrow you get all spend currency back and even better, the rates to draw 3* will be more then tripled.
- spend more time playing than you otherwise would have
- spend money / more money than you normally would
- make you feel obligated to play due to social obligations
- make it feel harder to stop playing due to sunk cost fallacy
In other words, anyone involved in developing or using these design patterns are also to blame for your decision making.
edit: I encourage to ignore the clown award you got. People being insensitive is nothing new these days.
Gacha games are nothing else than a monetized Pokemon game.
They abusing our childhood nostalgia, lol.
All I can say is some people are more susceptible to addiction. These patterns are enough of a problem that the EU's Consumer Protection Cooperation Network has already cracked down on them for games and websites.
All I can say is. Never do it again, ever. If you ever find yourself playing a Gacha game, just never do that ever again and try to be F2P only. If you spend like 50-60 hours on the game, go and spend on the game but a game like this? This early on? Nah, never again.
What's another $200 if I even get a little enjoyment out of it?
No, you are not getting a refund, if you see it that way, you are addicted.
What you are getting is 2x pulls for 200 bucks, you have already spent 500 bucks(if this is even real), so you will already end up with 1000 bucks worth of pulls to your account, no gacha needs that much, especially this mid gacha with only 5 characters.
Never spend money you don't have. If you don't have enough money on hand to buy 2 of whatever it is you are thinking of buying (except maybe a house) you should consider long and hard whether you should buy and/or if you really need to buy it.
The game could EoS in a month for all we know (look at Concorde). People rationalize spending in these kinds of games in various ways (guilty as charged myself), the games are literally designed in a way to make you either need or want to spend money (the need is facilitated by power creep, the want is devs being responsive, QoL, character designs etc. two ends of the same spectrum).
This game at least has bit less than normal use of anti patterns to build habits (since it has effectively no real stamina system, since boosters can be farmed), but then again it has dailies and BP and the monthly pass for low spenders still. So is it actually any better, probably not, but the key is it feels that way and that is what they want.
TL;DR: know what you are getting into with these kind of games, they like alcohol can be fun in moderation, but they can also ruin your life.
