TRIBE NINE
Questions
1. What does the support stat do? I assume it's different for each character? But I can't figure out what it does for any character.

2. Why do people say Kazuki is the best breaker? I tried him and Yo. And Yo seems to break much faster in my experience.

3. I'm not really interested in XB. Does playing XB give good rewards? Is there a penalty for losing XB matches?

1. Support points increase the power of the next chain skill when you trigger one. For example, if you have a Tsuki build full support, you will want her to execute her chain skill right before your main dps to maximise its damage.

2. I don't play Yo so i can't answer this but on paper Kazuki's secondary attack has a better break value than Yo's strategy skill (1000 vs 600).

3. Ranked XB only gives you medals when you reach higher ranks (Argent, Gold, Platinum and finally Extreme). If i remember correctly there are rewards for 15 ranked games played (or was it wins?) and for accumulating score points but it doesn't take so much time to collect all these rewards so you can just rush some games. Losing XB matches only affect your rank progression, and actually it is very difficult to lose since the game in its current system obviously favors the player.
1. Support also affects some passives depending on the character. You can check the "Details" in each one.

2. Senju breaks marginally faster if piloted and is easier to use IMO. But Kazuki brings way more utility to the team while also being an amazing breaker manually or AI controlled.

3. You just play XB against debuffed versions of another players' teams controlled by AI, there is no actual PvP in this game right now. If you have around lv 30~40 characters + tier 6~8 patimons + some passives, you are guaranteed to win AFAIK. You have to have really bad RNG to lose.
You can get some costume gacha boxes by completing some matches. If you like cosmetics, it is worth it to spend some time mashing skip animation button until you win.

1 and 3 and have been answered. To add onto the answers given for 2. Make sure you're doing both parts of Kazuki's secondary attack. He probably is slower than Yo at breaking if you're not doing/missing the spin part of his secondary that is triggered by pressing the button again.
2. I think I realized the problem. Kazuki just does so much more damage that weak enemies often die before they break.
I have some more questions:

4. If buffs/debuffs don't state a duration, does that mean they last forever?

5. What's the difference between Attention and Hegemony? Can either make it so that the boss always targets the AI Roku Saigo, and not me?

6. How does the tension card "Mastermind" work? It says "When a Primary Attack hits a target at a certain distance, grant party members [Star Actor]. What distance is needed?
4. Do you have any example?

5. [Attention] is granted by some characters' attacks, while [Hegemony] is exclusive to tension cards (but you still need to have [Attention] first) and gives 5% damage reduction to the character under the effect. [Hegemony] has higher priority than [Attention], which means that if you have one character with [Attention] and one character with [Hegemony] in your team, ennemies will target the latter first.

As for boss fights, it is not possible for it to always target Roku since some of their attacks (the "WARNING" ones) always target the operating character even if another character have [Attention] or [Hegemony].

6. I don't know the exact range but after testing it, you need to be around this distance minimum to trigger the effect, thus it doesn't work with melee characters: https://imgur.com/a/DMScWVR

4. Like the card Phalanx says "When a character grants Shield, grant that character [Kingship]. And there's no duration stated for Kingship.

5. Is Roku still good for bossing then? Feel like a lot of his value is lost if the enemy targets me anyways. Or I just have to control him myself?

6. So, you just need to have 1 ranged character on the team to give it the the other 2 party members? Do I have to be the one controlling the ranged character?

There are like two types of attacks. Basic swings that go toward attention character and special that will target current player character most of the time. You just have to remember attacks that will target you no matter what and learn how to dodge/parry them. Ideally you should remember all attacks and learn to dodge/parry them but then you wouldn't need a tank. That's the point where you can drop Saigo from your teams.

He's a clutch essentially, he lets you learn these timings without risk of dying.

4. Buffs without stated duration, if not consumed by another TC, last until the end of the battle;

5. AFAIK Saigo's main role is to activate "when dealt damage" cards by tanking damage and healing using his passive.
You'll inevitably have to deal with enemies' attacks every once in a while. You can try swapping characters right before the attack and let the AI dodge it for you.
I've seen some videos of people AFK defeating the FV boss using Saigo + defense/heals TCs, so it definitely works, but I've never tried myself.

6. Star Actor only affects non-controlled characters. IMO, right now, it is not really worth the hassle of having to space your attacks/shuffle your team composition. There are better TCs to fill the slot.

Switch to Saigo when you see warning, hold down Q to tank the hit. Switch back and continue fighting.
