If you like weighty yet fluid combat, you can try soulslike games like Black Myth Wukong or Sekiro.
If you want flashy action, you can go for Zenless Zone Zero.
If you like the action bullet hell aspect, you can maybe try Super Ledgehop Double Laser, Rabi Ribi or Nier Automata
If you like learning enemy patterns and optimize the counter, the soulslike games work but you can also go for Devil May Cry or Bayonetta
I do like to add Code Vein in there since it also have partner system and soulslike.
I could swear they bought some of the literal same animation packs for basic enemy attacks.
it's similarly dodge focused, and has the same sort of "I will spam fighting the same boss 20 times because I know I can do better" energy. It's also a gacha, like this one. Less oppressive rates, though.
That said, I did stop playing it because they semi-recently widened the gulf between whaling and not-whaling. You know that thing in Diablo that became a tragic laughingstock where if you had the like mostest like extra bestest specialistist equipment, (basically only happening if you're whaling,) you straight up get additional equipment slots in it? PGR added that (less extreme.) I couldn't accept supporting it with my presence after that, but if that sort of thing either doesn't bother you, or appeals to you, you'll love it.
Also, free characters, despite being incredibly interesting to play, are intentionally designed that even if maximally invested, they still can't meet the clear speeds of premium ones, so you'll often feel your team has already been picked out for you.
Furthermore, it's not quite as aesthetically... "intense..." as this game. I find that a massive positive for how it feels to play (you can generally see everything on screen so reacting is practical,) but a significant downside for how it "feels" to play (it's less of feeling like a whole spectacle. I've restarted fights in this game not for dying, but for getting hit by a heavy attack and ruining the music. It felt worse than the HP loss.)
To PGR's credit, though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wDr3SmdKKs
Honkai Impact 3rd is a similar style gacha (PGR actually began as a clone of this game, before it became it's own thing,) but significantly easier, and with an all female cast (the Chinese playerbase reacted so strongly to the dev's asking if they could/should add male playable character(s), that they apologized for even putting out a poll.) They did some super annoying thing that made farming weapons F2P way worse by deleting a shop years ago, so I haven't played it since (or really followed anything else MHY did, since they went down that road. Unfortunate.)
Both PGR and HI3 are the disappointingly common situation of "excellent game held back by monetization."
thank you all very much for the suggestions. will definitly try them all
Only one playable character/fighting style (as far as I’ve seen.)
Lighthearted feel, contrasted to this game’s morbidity.
