How to Start Precipice 4 in Windowed Mode (Can fix launch)

We've found that for some people who are having trouble launching the game, starting the game in windowed mode can fix the problem. Unfortunately, the game defaults to starting in full-screen mode but there is a solution.

Download the following file - http://zeboyd.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Settings.zip
Unzip the contents to your Precipice of Darkness 4 save folder which can be found in Documents/SavedGames/Rainslick4/Rainslick4/AllPlayers

The game did not create this file when installed, and I am still unable to play. Is there any other possible fixes for this?

The Settings file itself won't be created just for installing, but trying to run the program - even if it immediately crashes - should still generate the Save Directory where you can place this file and relaunch in windowed mode. If the save directories aren't even being made, you can add the folders yourself and try with this Settings file.

I had the same problem. And remember a fix from another game which had the same issue. I've set the game to start as administrator and it works fine now.

You can do this by going to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 4
there you'll find the Rainslick4.exe. Right click, go to properties, then compatability where somewhere under you can check the "Run as administrator". This should fix it if the above doesn't work.

Still nothing worked. The SavedGame folder did not exist. And the marked as Admin did not work too... So Sir rwb36, i w8 for a solution or i will give your game back ! Cause i dont buy stuff whos not working !!! Greetz

I also can't launch the game regularly. Gives me a "no suitable graphics card found" error. I'm using a GTX 680 and an i3570K.

The settings file fix to run in window mode does work, once. If I go into the game options to change to full screen the game will crash again with the same error when I next try to launch it.
